One of the distinguishing features of each new version of macOS is undoubtedly the wallpaper, by which almost all knowledgeable Apple users can recognize the version of the system. In the case of the latest macOS Mojave, however, the basic wallpaper depicting the Mojave Desert is, after all, something special. This is a dynamic wallpaper that changes its color and shadows depending on the time of day - during the day, the dune is bathed in sunlight, in the evening and night hours, on the contrary, it is shrouded in darkness. And this function has now been copied by Xiaomi.

Xiaomi has literally made a name for itself in recent years by copying Apple. Whether it was the iPhone, iPad, MacBook or even directly Steve Jobs, the inspiration here was downright glaring. This time, the Chinese giant took a peek at the dynamic wallpaper from macOS Mojave and used it for its new Mi 9 flagship smartphone, which it introduced two days ago.

A few examples of what Xiaomi copied from Apple:

The functionality of the wallpaper is the same – wallpaper or its color presentation changes according to the time of day. Xiaomi did not even bother to significantly change the background and bet on the proven desert. Not to be outdone, the Chinese designers slightly changed the twisting lines of the dune and also played with the colors. But already at first glance, the similarity is obvious.

The company did not dare to highlight the function during the premiere of the new Mi 9, but only revealed it together with other minor news on your blog. It was there that the similarity to the dynamic wallpaper in macOS Mojave was noticed by Vlad Savov, who reported on it on The Verge. You can view the feature presented by Xiaomi below.
