Apple took a certain delay with the new straps and instead of May 17, we got them yesterday. Yesterday, however, Xiaomi also presented a new generation of its best-selling fitness bracelet, the Mi Band 7. The joke here is that Apple's strap will cost the same as the Chinese manufacturer's comprehensive solution.

The Xiaomi Mi Band range of bracelets has been very popular for many years. This is simply because it is a very cheap solution that really offers a lot of fun for its price. This is because it is a complex device that measures most health functions, like the competition, of course notifies the wearer about events on the connected device and, last but not least, tracks all activities, of which it can do more than a hundred.

Even if the design of the 7th generation sticks to the captured design of the previous ones, and even if there are not so many new things, it is still a clear choice for all those who are not sure if smart wearables are beneficial for them. Newly, the display has grown, the battery has increased, and the measurement of blood oxygenation has been improved. This function now measures it continuously, and if the blood oxygenation drops below 90%, the bracelet will notify you. Among the main novelties, it is also advisable to use the training load calculator, which can recommend the length of rest and regeneration, but also helps with weight loss or, on the contrary, gaining muscle mass.

Each of the pair of slip-on Pride Edition Apple sports straps costs CZK 1. Xiaomi Mi Band 290 should cost 7 or 1 CZK, respectively, depending on whether you need NFC (Xiaomi Pay is also available here). Apple only has a strap for the same price, but Xiaomi will offer a comprehensive solution that can be fully used with iPhones.

Don't wait for Apple's fitness bracelet

We already touched on it above. Fitness bracelets are intended primarily for those who are not completely sure of their use and just want to get to know wearables. They are also ideal for those who want to combine them with regular watches and wear them only for their activities. They're usually not exactly design gems, although that's a point of view. But it is more or less expected that if they appeal to you, over time you will replace them with a better solution, i.e. typically a smart watch. It doesn't have to be an Apple Watch, but maybe a Garmin solution, etc.

There is no need to lie about anything. Apple made a dent in the world with the Apple Watch, even though fitness bands and smartwatches have been around for a while. He came up with the best solution he could. But isn't it time to lighten up in the form of a fitness bracelet? From Apple's point of view, no, even if certain users would welcome it. Apple doesn't need to be cheap. He would thus bring a device worth about 2 CZK, which is half the price of his Apple Watch Series 750, which will be replaced by the more usable Apple Watch SE when it leaves the market.

Even if they are technologically outdated, they still have a lot to offer to undemanding users. Apple's fitness bracelet would have to lighten up a lot, especially from smart functions, because it would be limited by the size of its display. The loss of that smartness is probably an insurmountable factor for Apple, because then it would not really have any advantage over the competition. He would only bring the same thing that other brands offer, but with his logo and track. And it probably doesn't really need that, which is why we will never see a fitness bracelet from Apple. A cheaper edition of the Apple Watch is more likely.
