In the last few months, there has been quite a lot of discussion about the introduction of the new MacBook Pro. It should come in 14" and 16" variants and will offer a significant design change along with the return of the HDMI port, SD card reader and power through the MagSafe connector. The main change should then be the arrival of a newer chip from the Apple Silicon family, which will probably be named M1X or M2. But when will the product be introduced? Opinions differ greatly in this regard. Now, however, another analyst who believes in the revelation during WWDC21 has made herself heard.
So when will the show take place?
In the case of the expected MacBook Pro, no one can say for sure when Apple will reveal this piece to us. For example, the leading analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and the Nikkei Asia portal, which allegedly draws information directly from the supply chain, have already commented on the whole situation. According to them, the product will arrive in the second half of this year at the earliest, which of course only starts in July. On the other hand, especially lately, reports have started to appear that things could be a little different in the final. Recently, analyst Daniel Ives from the investment company Wedbush made himself heard, according to which the presentation will take place already during WWDC21.
An earlier concept of the 14″ MacBook Pro:
In any case, analyst Ives is not alone in the opposite opinion. Even one of the most famous leakers ever commented on the whole situation, Jon prosser, which shares exactly the same idea. However, we must draw attention to a relatively important fact. Even the best analyst sometimes misses the mark with his reports. However, these two views were confirmed by another analyst, Katy Huberty, from the investment bank Morgan Stanley. According to her, as she said, it is "likely" that Apple will reveal the news now.
The good news is that WWDC21 is only a few hours away. So we will know whether the show will actually take place tonight. Of course, we will inform you immediately about all the news that Apple reveals through articles.
I don't understand the obsession with ports. I hope the new MBP will only have 4x USB4. Why HDMI when I just need DP? Why a card reader? When I fish the card from the camera, I also fish the reader from the bag. Why magsafe when charging via usb-c is standard and I already have several such chargers everywhere I need them. In addition, a specific port on a specific side is impractical, it is better to have freedom and a reduction on the left or right to a universal USB4. Howgh!
when someone outside kicks the cable to the NTB for the werewolf, we'll see...:)
Complete agreement. If Apple brings back those confusing ports at a time when almost no one uses them, then it must be completely crazy. I've had the MBP 13 2020 Intel version since November 2020 and in all that time I've only needed USB about twice. So I bought a reducer. Otherwise, what I use practically all the time are all 2 USB C ports. Some HDMI or SD card reader really in 4 than
I completely agree and believe that this concept is implausible. Mainly because TB3/TB4 itself is far more variable.
