Already next week, from June 7 to 11, the next year of Apple's regular developer conference, i.e. WWDC21, awaits us. Before we get to see it, we will be reminding ourselves of its previous years on the Jablíčkára website, especially those of an older date. We recall briefly how the past conferences took place and what news Apple presented at them.

The Worldwide Developers Conference 2012, like previous years, was held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California, on June 11-15. Tickets for the conference, which went on sale on April 25 at 2012:2012 in the morning, sold out in just two hours. This Keynote went down in Apple history as the conference where native Apple Maps were introduced for the first time. But hardware also came to the fore - Apple presented, for example, the new MacBook Air or the new MacBook Pro with Retina display at its WWDC 10.8. In accordance with Apple's traditions, the new operating systems Mac OS X 6 Mountain Lion and iOS XNUMX were also introduced at WWDC XNUMX.

But WWCC 2012 was special for one more thing. It was the first ever Keynote at which Apple allowed participants under the age of eighteen to attend. The reason for this was that an underage participant essentially won the participation in this conference by mistake. The young winner did not hesitate and wrote a petition to Tim Cook, in which he asked to allow participants under the age of eighteen to enter the conference. The petition was successful, and Apple began allowing entry to these conferences from the age of thirteen.

However, some parts of the conference remained inaccessible to under-eighteens, and alcohol was, for obvious reasons, only served to participants who were over twenty-one years old. Apple broadcast a live stream of the opening Keynote exclusively for owners of devices with the Safari web browser.
