We are only a few hours away from the start of the expected WWDC21 conference, during which new operating systems will be revealed. Specifically, Apple is going to show off iOS 15, iPadOS 15, watchOS 8 and macOS 12. As is customary at this conference, the systems will be loaded with new features to further facilitate our daily lives. We could be looking forward to major improvements to Health, iMessage and a brand new mental health app.

The new app Mind

If you are one of our regular readers, you certainly did not miss the article about what I would do I specifically liked to see it in the watchOS 8 operating system. I mentioned, for example, the redesign of the Breathing application. It is not particularly popular and, for example, I don't know anyone in my area who uses it regularly. Specifically, Apple could transform it into a tool that will comprehensively take care of the user's health. It didn't take long and here we have a report published by the developer Khaos tian. He shared a very interesting post on his Twitter, when he found a reference in the App Store referring to the Mind application build (com.apple.Mind).

But that's not all. Additional references were discovered to builds with identifiers com.apple.NanoTips and com.apple.NanoContacts. These will likely be new, stand-alone applications. Apple quite commonly uses the designation "Nano" for programs designed for the Apple Watch. Specifically, the second mentioned build could refer to Contacts, which you can't find separately in watchOS yet, but you have to go to the Phone app for them.

Changes in Health

As for the native Health application, it could also receive a number of interesting improvements. We are already at the end of March informed about quite interesting news, according to which the iOS 15 system could come with a function that monitors what we have eaten in a given day. Undoubtedly, this would be an extremely interesting novelty. In addition, Apple could connect this with something that has been talked about for much longer. For some time now, information has been circulating on the Internet that the Apple Watch Series 7 will bring a sensor for non-invasive monitoring of blood sugar levels. And this is exactly something that people diagnosed with diabetes could greatly benefit from.

In such a case, the Apple Watch could alert the user to an elevated blood sugar level, while immediately linking this information to what the user ate during the day. In addition, the watch could gradually learn from this. In particular, Apple Watch could first show you a notification when the aforementioned detection of an increased sugar level is detected, and then offer you a list of foods that you normally eat, so that in a given case you can write down what is specifically responsible for the increase in values.

Interesting concept depicting blood sugar measurement:

In addition, this would solve a problem that is quite typical for applications monitoring consumed food. Users have to enter nutritional values manually, which is frankly annoying. But if the Apple Watch could detect the effect of a given meal on the body and intelligently offer a list of meals, it would greatly simplify the entire use and make it easier for many users.

iMessage

One of the most popular communication platforms among Apple users is iMessage. But it still lags behind its competition in some respects. In any case, it is good to see that Apple is aware of some of the shortcomings and therefore regularly shows us that it is working on this application. In addition, now he has a great opportunity to prove it to us again. In fact, iMessage still lacks a few relatively important functions. For example, we would all like to be able to delete a sent message before the other party reads it. WWDC21 is a great opportunity for Apple to come up with something new.
