Information has hit the internet about another major update for the messaging app WhatsApp, which will bring a feature that a large portion of the user base has been waiting for for several years. On the one hand, support for single sign-on to one account across several devices will arrive, and on the other hand, we are expecting a full-fledged application for all major platforms.

As it turns out, Facebook is currently working on a massive update for its messaging platform WhatsApp. The new version that is being prepared will bring the possibility of a unified login from several different devices. This will allow you to log in to the same profile on your iPad as you have on your iPhone. In addition, a full-fledged WhatsApp application is on the way for iPads, Macs and Windows PCs.

In practice, this means that it will be possible to make the main device out of these clients as well. Until now, the infrastructure of the service worked only on the basis of connected mobile phones (and their phone numbers). The default WhatsApp profile can now also be set on an iPad or Mac/PC. The application will finally become fully cross-platform.

The upcoming update should also bring a major overhaul of content encryption, which will be needed due to greater data distribution given that conversations will have to be shared across several different versions of the software on different platforms. WhatsApp will thus become something similar to iMessage, which can also work on several different devices at the same time (iPhone, Mac, iPad...). If you use WhatsApp, you have something to look forward to. It is not yet known when Facebook will publish the news.
