The iOS operating system is characterized by its simplicity, which is absolutely key for the vast majority of apple users. At the same time, it goes hand in hand with a great design, great optimization, speed and software support. But it is not for nothing that they say that all that glitters is not gold. Of course, this also applies in this case.
Although iOS offers a number of great benefits, on the other hand, we would also find a number of shortcomings that may be overlooked for some, but quite annoying for others. In this article, we will therefore focus on the things that most often bother apple users about the iOS operating system. What is quite interesting is that in the vast majority of cases these are small things that Apple could deal with practically immediately.
What would apple growers change immediately?
First, let's take a look at the minor flaws that plague apple lovers. As we have already mentioned above, overall, in most cases, these are small things. In theory, we can only wave our hands over them, but it would definitely not hurt if Apple really started improving or redesigning them. Apple fans have been criticizing the volume control system for years. Two side buttons are used for this on iPhones, which can be used to increase/decrease the sound of the media. In this way, songs (Spotify, Apple Music) and volume from applications (games, social networks, browsers, YouTube) can be controlled. However, if you would like to set the volume for the ringtone, then you have to go to Settings and change the volume there rather unnecessarily. Apple could solve this problem, for example, along the lines of the iPhone, or incorporate a simple option - either Apple users could control the volume as before, or choose a "more advanced mode" and use the side buttons to control not only the volume of media, but also ringtones, alarm clocks and others.
Certain shortcomings are also pointed out in connection with the native application of the Report. This is used for sending classic SMS and iMessage messages. What apple users often complain about is the inability to mark only a part of a given message and then copy it. Unfortunately, if you only need to get part of a given message, the system allows you to copy, for example, phone numbers, but not sentences. So the only option is to copy the entire message as such and move it elsewhere. Users therefore copy it, for example, to Notes, where they can remove the excess parts and continue working with the rest. However, what some would also appreciate is the ability to schedule a message/iMessage to be sent at a specific time. The competition has been offering something like this for a long time.
In connection with minor shortcomings, the impossibility of custom sorting of applications on desktops is often mentioned - they are automatically sorted in the upper left corner. If you'd like to have apps stacked at the bottom, for example, then you're out of luck. In this regard, users would also welcome an overhaul of the native Calculator, easier work with Bluetooth and a number of other little things.
What changes would apple growers welcome in the future
On the other hand, apple lovers would also welcome a number of other changes, which we could already describe as somewhat more extensive. As of 2020, potential changes for widgets are often talked about. That's when Apple released the iOS 14 operating system, which after years saw a major change - it was possible to add widgets to the desktop as well. Before, unfortunately, they could only be used in the side panel, which is why, according to the users themselves, they were practically unusable. Fortunately, the Cupertino giant was inspired by the competing Android system and transferred widgets to desktops. Although this was a fairly big change for iOS as such, it does not mean that there is nowhere to move. Apple lovers, on the other hand, would welcome the expansion of their options and the arrival of a certain interactivity. In that case, the widgets could work independently, without just referring us to the app itself.
In the end, nothing can be missing other than the mention of apple voice assistance. In recent years, Siri has faced quite sharp criticism for several reasons. Unfortunately, it's no secret that Siri is lagging behind its competition and, figuratively speaking, letting the train miss it. Compared to Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, it is a bit "dumb" more unnatural.
Can you identify with some of the imperfections mentioned, or are you troubled by completely different qualities? Share your experiences below in the comments.
Simply put, Apple fans would like Android instead of iOS in their iPhones…
:))) well, not really :)))
-I would definitely like a monthly calendar view, including a widget. By that I mean the display of events and not just a dot.
-Better widgets and eliminating those huge gaps between them. When I measure the width of the phone and the area for text, I find that the edges take 18mm. Why? I do not understand.
-The option to customize your "app library" It's basically a useless screen. In addition, constantly changing and senselessly sorting applications into groups.
So, since switching from Android to iOS, the thing that bothers me the most is searching for a contact before dialing. I would welcome T9 search directly by dialer. I don't understand why it's not mentioned in the article. The thing that a phone should primarily be able to….call…. and don't delay searching in contacts.
It rather wants to change habits. Just swipe down on the display and a search box appears that searches across the system, including contacts.
Yeah, searching for contacts directly through the dialer would be nice (although I got used to swiping down and searching in the system), but I'm more annoyed by the call history. Only 100 records and not linking the call history with the contact. Well, at least the history that can be seen. Otherwise, one has to manually scroll through the history and search. :-/
