There are never enough weather apps. Another one that claims our attention is called Weather Nerd, and it tries to impress with detailed information, a well-crafted graphical interface, as well as availability for the Apple Watch in addition to the iPhone and iPad.

Anyone looking for a weather app is looking for something a little different. Someone needs a simple application where they can immediately see how many degrees it is now, what the weather will be like tomorrow, and that's all. Others are looking for complex "frogs" that will tell them about the weather and what they practically don't need to know.

Weather Nerd certainly falls into the category of comprehensive weather forecasting apps and adds to that a great interface where you see everything important processed in clear and comprehensive graphics. And it really is a bit of a "nerdy" app, as the name suggests.

Colorfulness and intuitiveness, these are two things that characterize Weather Nerd and at the same time allow for easy control and a clear display of information. The application downloads data from Forecast.io, so there is no problem with its use in the Czech Republic. Thanks to this, Weather Nerd presents information about how it is today (or just how it will be in the next hour), how it will be tomorrow, an overview for the next seven days, and then forecasts for the next weeks.

The above-mentioned data are distributed in five tabs in the lower panel. You can switch between them by simply dragging your finger horizontally anywhere on the display, which is handy.

The screen with the forecast for the next hour is mainly used to find out if it will rain in the next few minutes and, if so, how intensively. The current temperature is also displayed with information on whether it will continue to decrease or increase, and there is also a weather radar, although it is not as well processed as compared to competing applications and, moreover, it only works in North America.

The tabs with "today's" and "tomorrow's" forecasts are the most detailed. The screen is always dominated by a graph in which the temperature during the day is represented by a curve. Spinning pinwheels effectively show how the wind will blow, and if it's going to rain, you'll find out thanks to moving rain. Again, the higher the rain reaches in the graph, the greater its intensity.

The interesting thing is that Weather Nerd can also display the temperature from the previous day with a faint line, so you can have an interesting comparison on one screen, as it was yesterday. In addition, the application will also tell you this in text, immediately below the day and date. “It's 5 degrees warmer than yesterday. It won't rain anymore," reports Weather Nerd, for example.

Below the graph you will find other detailed statistics such as the highest/lowest temperatures of the day, percentage probability of rain, wind speed, sunrise/sunset or air humidity. You can expand even more detailed information under the Nerd Out button. You can also find more detailed data about individual parts of the day when you hold your finger on a certain point in the chart.

The forecast for the following week is also handy. In the bar graphs here, you can see the maximum and minimum temperatures for individual days, graphically showing how it will be (sunny, cloudy, rain, etc.), as well as the probability of rain. You can open each day and get the same view as the daily and tomorrow previews mentioned above.

Within the calendar on the last tab, you can then look at further weeks ahead, but there Weather Nerd mainly estimates based on historical data.

Many at Weather Nerd will also welcome the widgets that the app comes with. There are three of them. In the Notification Center, you can view the forecast for the next hour, for the current day, or the forecast for the entire next week. You don't even have to open the app so many times to know everything you need.

In addition, Weather Nerd also has a very good app for the Apple Watch, so you can easily get an overview of the current or future weather from your wrist. For four euros (currently a 25% discount), this is a very complex and, above all, graphically well-crafted "frog", which can interest even those who already use some weather application.
