When last May Apple announced giant purchase of Beats, the most talked about names like Jimmy Iovine, Dr. Dre or Trent Reznor, which the Californian giant took under its wing as part of the acquisition. But for example, former Beats president Luke Wood also works at Apple, who now talked about the new chapter of his company.

Wood has been a music fan since he was a child, so his association with Beats Electronics, the seller of the iconic headphones and later the music streaming service Beats Music, comes as no surprise. Wood would like to stay with his musical roots at Apple, he said Mashable in Sydney, where the Beats Sound Symposium was held.

After more than a year since the acquisition, it looks like he can't complain too much just yet. "It is brilliant. One of the biggest surprises was the level of integrity and honesty of the people who work at Apple. It's a unique company," said Wood about his experience at Cupertino, according to whom it is exactly the bar that Steve Jobs set and Tim Cook continues to set.

“We've always been big fans of Apple. In the audio business, Apple has always been the obvious choice. When Steve Jobs and Eddy Cue were building iTunes, Jimmy (Iovine) was one of the first people they contacted in 2003,” Wood revealed, noting that the two companies were usually on the same page.

After selling the company, Wood shifted all his attention to Beats Electronics, the part that sells popular headphones. After the acquisition, there was speculation as to whether, for example, they would lose the iconic Beats logo, and how Apple would actually treat all products without its own logo. According to Wood, the mindset hasn't changed much.

“At Beats, we've always been consistent and focused on premium audio,” explains Wood. The focus was primarily on creating the perfect product experience. “I think that's the DNA of everything that Steve ever wanted to achieve at Apple. Product experience, including design, technology, innovation, simplicity. These are things that are also the basis of our DNA.”
