Apple picker JBL managed to keep new limited editions of existing products a secret for quite some time. Even we, as a distributor of Vzé.cz, did not receive any information until they landed in our warehouse. We ourselves are surprised that they were not presented either at IFA 2013 or at CES 2014 in Las Vegas, which they certainly deserved. But on the other hand, world-famous designers and musicians worked on these limited editions and only a few pieces were produced. Only three pieces of each model arrived in the Czech Republic, while the limited edition does not differ in price from the regular, commercially sold product. At the end of the article you will find the option to purchase. Let's imagine them.
JBL SoundSpace
This product is based on the existing JBL OnStage micro. The design was created by Ryan Church, who is a designer for George Lucas, with whom he worked on Star Wars: Episode II. This docking station for Apple products with a Lightning connector (iPhone 5, 5S and 5C) is intended for playing music from compatible phones. Compared to the original product, the system was expanded to include the ability to stream music using AirPlay and Bluetooth. The developers have also integrated the latest ClariFi sound enhancement technology into this product. The JBL SoundSpace contains two 20W aa and one 40W speaker with a neodymium magnet at a frequency of 70 Hz-20 kHz. The price is set at a pleasant 1 CZK.
JBL Weave
The JBL Flip II product comes out very prominently and looks as if it is just dressed in a case. But the first look fooled us, as we found out from the promotional materials. Yes, the parameters are completely identical, but we were surprised that this product has IP68 protection, which means that the speaker can withstand permanent immersion in water. And the protective material used is aircraft grade aluminum which makes the product indestructible. You can jump on the speaker, drop it on the ground and it won't affect it at all. The whole thing is covered with genuine processed leather with a practical carrying strap. The packaging itself is just as gorgeous. The price is identical to the JBL Flip II, i.e. 3 CZK.
JBL Twist
It looks like JBL has decided to focus on outdoor enthusiasts. This is specifically for those who come into contact with water frequently. The JBL Twist also meets the IP68 protection standard, so you can take it on a raft, for example. It's actually a half-empty tube that has speakers spread over the entire surface for perfect surround sound. Half of the tube is filled with a battery to power the speakers, and the empty part can be used to store a player or phone and possibly other small items. Inside you will find a microUSB connector for charging and a jack connector for connecting the player. The practical rubber strap is used both for carrying and for attaching, e.g. to the remembered raft, so that you do not lose it in the event of the vessel capsizing. The price is identical to JBL Weave, namely 3 CZK.
JBL take-IT
It is clear from the name itself that this is a product that you can take with you anywhere. The JBL take-IT is not based on any existing concept and the interesting thing is that you will find exactly two speakers in the package to have a full-fledged stereo sound. Plus, you can stack them on top of each other as they stick together with a strong magnet and pair with each other using NFC technology. You can easily pair them with your phone using NFC, but unfortunately iPhones do not support NFC. The speakers come with a practical design carrying case and a USB base for inductive phone charging. The induction charger complies with the Qi standard, so if your phone has this technology available, you will immediately get a practical charger. Each speaker contains two 15W speakers and can play for up to 12 hours on the integrated battery. You send the sound to the speakers by streaming via Bluetooth. The price is a little higher due to the mentioned inductive charging, but again it is not excessive - CZK 2.
