For all fans of voluminous, complex strategies, the developers from Paradox Interactive have prepared an offer that cannot be refused. Their space strategy Stellaris is free to try on Steam over the next few days. The generous offer lasts until September 20, now you can buy the game at a traditional discount after trying it out. At the same time, Stellaris represents one of the best grand strategies you can get on macOS.

A key gameplay element that will affect each of your campaigns is the selection and customization of your civilization in Stellaris. Using various sliders and binary options, you can create an alien race exactly in your image, even if they look like weird lizard people. Individual traits are then translated into research trees that represent social progress, new physical discoveries, and the skill of your engineers in using them. This then shapes the way your civilization will evolve and react to different game situations.

In the first part of the game, you will go through the phase of discovery and great development, but in the next part, the game spills over into a large number of war simulations. As you expand, you'll start bumping into galactic rivals, and disagreements are inevitable. Stellaris thus hides an incredible number of different permutations of different playthroughs, which you can increase thanks to a large number of additional DLCs that expand the game with a whole collection of new systems.
