Apple has sent out a Golden Master version of the upcoming OS X Yosemite to developers, which marks the imminent arrival of the final version, but at the same time it may not be the last test build that developers will receive. GM Candidate 1.0 arrives two weeks after the eighth developer preview and the third public beta new operating system for Mac computers. Users participating in the public testing program also received the fourth public beta version.

Registered developers and users can download the latest version from the Mac App Store or through the Mac Dev Center. The GM version of Xcode 6.1 and the new OS X Server 4.0 developer preview were also released.

OS X Yosemite will bring a new, flatter and more modern look, modeled on the latest iOS, and at the same time, it will offer greater interconnectedness and cooperation with the mobile operating system. During several months of testing, which began at WWDC in June, Apple gradually added new features and optimized the appearance and behavior of the new system, and now sent developers a so-called Golden Master version, which usually does not differ much from the final version.

The public should see OS X Yosemite during October, but it is possible that it will not be the same build as GM Candidate 1.0 (Build 14A379a). A year ago, during the development of OS X Mavericks, Apple released a second version, which was finally transformed into the final form of the system on October 22.
