Alongside iOS and iPadOS 13.1.2, Apple today also released watchOS 6.0.1 for all Apple Watch Series 3 and later owners. The new watchOS 6.0.1 is a minor patch update that addresses bugs related to watch faces, complications, and the display.

The update is recommended for all users and, in addition to bug fixes, it also brings optimization and overall system security. Specifically, Apple managed to solve a total of three shortcomings that users could encounter when using the system.

New watchOS 6.0.1:

  • Fixes a bug where Mickey and Minnie's watch faces would not report the time when tapped
  • Addresses an issue where the calendar complication was not displaying events
  • Fixes a bug that could lead to the loss of display calibration data

You can update to the new watchOS 6.0.1 in the Watch application on the iPhone, specifically in My watch, where you go to In general -> Software update. The installation package is approximately 75,7 MB in size (varies by watch model). For now, only owners of Apple Watch Series 3, Series 4 and the new Series 5 can update. For Apple Watch Series 1 and Series 2, watchOS 6 and 6.0.1, respectively, will be available at a later date.
