Along with Watch 6.1 Today, Apple also released macOS Catalina 10.15.1 for regular users. The update brings updated and new emojis, support for AirPods Pro, secure video in HomeKit, HomeKit-enabled routers, new privacy settings for Siri, and also includes various improvements and bug fixes that have plagued the system

New version of the system. can be found in System preferences -> Software update. To upgrade to a newer version, you need to download an installation package of approximately 4,49 GB (varies by Mac model). The update is available to owners of compatible Macs, which include all Apple computers that supported macOS Mojave.

macOS Catalina 10.15.1 update

Similar to iOS 13.2 released yesterday, also macOS Catalina 10.15.1. brings more than 70 new emoticons, including a waffle, a flamingo, a falafel and a yawning face. The system also gets support for the new AirPods Pro. The Home application now enables uploading, recording and playback of videos from security cameras supporting HomeKit.

But within the new version, Apple also focused on fixing several bugs that macOS Catalina has undoubtedly suffered from since its debut. The update thus, for example, solves the problem that was mentioned complicating the transfer of iTunes library databases to the new Music, Podcasts and TV applications. There have also been bug fixes for Messages, Photos, Contacts, Music or Finder (specifically the Downloads folder). A complete list of all news and fixes can be found below.

Crab

  • In your privacy settings, you can choose to participate in improving Siri and dictation by allowing Apple to save audio recordings of your interactions with Siri and dictation
  • You can also delete Siri and dictation history in Siri settings

Other bug fixes and improvements:

  • Restores the ability to show file names in the overview of all photos in the Photos app
  • Restores the ability to filter the Days view in Photos by favorites, photos, videos, edited items, and keywords
  • Addresses an issue with a single notification being sent from the Messages app even though the Repeat Notification option has been enabled
  • Fixes a bug that caused the last opened contact to be displayed instead of the contact list when opening the Contacts app
  • Addresses issues that may have occurred in the Music app when displaying playlists in folders and newly added songs in the playlist
  • Increases the reliability of transferring iTunes library databases to the Music, Podcasts and TV applications
  • Fixes an issue with downloads showing up in the Downloads folder in the TV app
