Hacking team Evad3rs released the expected untethered jailbreak Evsi0n for iOS 7.0-7.0.4, i.e. one that remains functional on the device even after a reboot. A team led by a well-known hacker known by the nickname Pod2g has prepared a relatively simple application for both Mac and Windows, where you only need to connect the iOS device to the computer, launch the application and proceed according to the instructions, even a less skilled computer user can handle the installation.

Nevertheless, an interesting controversy arose in the jailbreak community this time around the jailbreak. An alternative app and tweak store, Cydia, is usually included in the jailbreak and is installed after it is done. However, this time the released version contains an old version that is not fully stable and does not contain the latest version either Mobile Substrate, which is an integral part of Cydia. According to Saurik, who is its author, the Evasi0n team was not informed about the upcoming release of the jailbreak and thus did not have time to prepare a new version.

What's more, if Chinese is selected as the main language on the device, the jailbreak will install an alternative App Store, TaiG. As it turns out, Taig is quite controversial, as it also contains crackle games, as pointed out by Saurik. However, according to Evasi0n, this was a mistake on the Chinese side, as the operators of the alternative store should have ensured that pirated applications did not circulate there. And what is behind this charade, where the coordination between Evasi0n and Saurik failed, while Chinese users got TaiG instead of Cydia (Cydia can be installed and TaiG uninstalled afterwards)?

There were several agreements in place. Evad3rs received an offer from a Czech operator for hundreds of thousands of dollars to jailbreak their store. Saurik was also informed of this deal, and he also negotiated with the Chinese companies and made a counteroffer. In the end, the negotiations did not go well, and Saurik was supposed to work with another group that was supposed to release the jailbreak before Evad3rs. That's why Evasi0n was released with an older version of Cydia, with an update coming out a bit later.

Many jailbreak users are skeptical about the current form of Evasi0n, as it turned out that the illegal software from TaiG contains malware and in general this alternative store is not very trustworthy.
