TechInsights has broken down the latest flagship and evaluated each component approximately according to the available sources.

It probably won't surprise anyone that the most expensive component is the three-camera system. It will cost about 73,5 dollars. Next is the AMOLED display with a touch layer. The price is around 66,5 dollars. Only after it comes the Apple A13 processor, which costs 64 dollars.

The manufacturing cost of the iPhone 11 Pro Max is barely half the price
TechInsights calculated that the total manufacturing cost is approximately $490,5. That's 45% of the total retail price of the iPhone 11 Pro Max.
Of course, many may raise legitimate objections. The cost of materials and production (BoM - Bill of Materials) does not take into account the salaries of Apple employees, advertising costs and accompanying fees. Also not included in the price is the research and development necessary for the design and design of many components. The amount does not even cover the software. On the other hand, you can at least partially form a picture of how Apple is doing with the production price.

The main competitor Samsung can easily compete with Apple. His Samsung Galaxy S10+ costs $999 and the production price was calculated at around $420.
A longer production cycle also helps Apple a lot to push the price down. The most expensive was the iPhone X, as it brought a new design, components and the whole process for the first time.
