In this regular column, every day we look at the most interesting news that revolves around the California company Apple. Here we focus exclusively on the main events and selected (interesting) speculations. So if you are interested in current events and want to be informed about the apple world, definitely spend a few minutes on the following paragraphs.

Apple Maps now informs travelers of the need to stay in quarantine

This year brought with it a number of unfortunate events. Probably the biggest of these is the current global pandemic caused by the disease COVID-19. In the case of the coronavirus, wearing masks, limited social interaction and a fourteen-day quarantine after visiting a foreign country are very important. As it has now become clear on Twitter, the Apple Maps application has begun to warn of the necessity of the mentioned quarantine itself.

This news was pointed out by Kyle Seth Gray on his Twitter. He received a notification from the maps themselves to stay at home for at least a fortnight, check his temperature, and the notification itself is also accompanied by a link informing about risk and disease. Apple Maps uses the user's location and if you show up at the airport, you will receive this notification.

iPhone 11 is now manufactured in India

If you actively follow the events surrounding the apple company, then you surely know that the trade relations between the United States and China are not in the best state. For this reason, there has been talk of moving the production of Apple products to India for a long time. According to the latest news of the magazine The Economic Times is this move a few steps further. The new iPhone 11 phones will be manufactured directly in the aforementioned India. Moreover, this is the first time ever that a flagship will be produced in this country.

Of course, production still takes place under the aegis of Foxconn, whose factory is located near the city of Chennai. Apple should reportedly support Indian manufacturing, thereby reducing dependence on China. For now, the Cupertino company is rumored to produce $40 billion worth of Apple phones in India, with Foxconn itself planning a billion dollar investment (in dollars) to expand production.

The maker of the first stereo headphones is suing Apple for patent infringement

In 2016, we saw the introduction of the first generation of the now legendary Apple AirPods headphones. Although at first this product received a wave of criticism, users quickly fell in love with it and today they can no longer imagine their daily life without them. Blog Patently Apple, which deals with uncovering apple patents and explaining them, has now discovered a very interesting dispute. The American company Koss, which gave the world the first ever stereo headphones, sued the Californian giant. He was supposed to have violated five of their patents related to wireless headphones during the creation of the aforementioned AirPods. The lawsuit mentions AirPods as well as Beats brand products.

Court file in addition, it includes a fairly extensive section that we might call "The Koss Legacy in Audio Development," which dates back to 1958. Koss stands by its claim to have developed wireless headphones in general, especially what is known today as true wireless . But that's not all. Apple allegedly infringed on a patent that describes wireless headphone technology. But the latter can only be said to explain the ordinary functioning of wireless audio transmission.

The two companies were supposed to meet several times in the past for these reasons, and not a single license was granted to Apple after discussions. This is a very exceptional case, which could theoretically have consequences for Apple. Koss is no patent troll (a company that buys up patents and then exacts compensation from tech giants) and is actually a respected pioneer in the audio industry who was the first to develop the aforementioned technologies. Another interesting thing is that Koss chose Apple out of all the potential companies. The Californian giant represents a reputable company with a huge value, on which they could theoretically command a hefty sum. How the situation will develop further is unclear for now. Currently, we can only say that the whole lawsuit could have a big impact.
