Patrik Pajer Although the majority of video game players sit down at computers with the goal of breaking their records, killing as many enemies as possible or changing the course of history, there are still games whose main task is not to put big obstacles in front of players and give them space to calm down. So is an indie gem from developer Adam Gryu. VA Short Hike you will be aiming for the main task, but you will do so in the company of soothing formal processing and friendly companions.

VA Short Hike puts you in the role of Claire, an anthropomorphic bird who has just arrived on vacation to visit her aunt in a national park. But upon arrival, an urgent phone call awaits. At the same time, there is almost no signal anywhere in the area, with the exception of the top of the local mountain. So Claire goes on a trip where she gets to know the local nature and a collection of comic characters. In order to get to the mountain together with the main character, you will have to find at least seven hidden feathers, the gradual collection of which will give you the ability to fly to the top.
Collecting feathers is mostly a matter of exploring the surroundings, studying the topography of the area and then sailing to lower places. The game will take you approximately just over an hour. However, the developer created the game with that. Despite the fact that A Short Hike obviously did not have great ambitions, it took home the award for the best independent game of 2019 from the Independent Games Festival.
