Apple released the Golden Master (GM) version of macOS 10.15 Catalina this evening. This is the last ever beta of the system that comes before the release of the final version for regular users. The GM version should already be practically error-free, and in the vast majority of cases, its build coincides with the sharp version of the system that Apple will later make available to all users.

macOS 10.15 Catalina is the last of the five new systems that is still in the testing phase. Apple released iOS 13, iPadOS 13, watchOS 6 and tvOS 13 to regular users last month. macOS Catalina is scheduled to be released in October, but the Cupertino company has not yet announced the exact date. However, today's release of the Golden Master version suggests that we will see the system for Macs in the near future, perhaps as early as next week, or at the latest after the expected Keynote in October.

macOS Catalina GM is intended only for registered developers who can find it on their Mac in System preferences -> Software update, but only if they have the appropriate utility installed. Otherwise, the system can be downloaded in Apple Developer Center.

In the coming days, Apple should also release a public beta for all testers who have signed up for the Apple Beta program at beta.apple.com.
