Recently, you can hear more and more scandals from every side, the main content of which is the leakage of user data. Most often, Facebook or other social networks are among the companies whose data is leaked. However, Facebook is not the only company that collects data about users and, both behind their backs and behind the backs of government authorities, resells this data. At first glance, it may not seem like something like this is happening, but over time all these negative aspects begin to emerge. Users have no idea what can happen to their data behind the scenes.

It is because of this issue that many users have become aware. Over time, they began to call for companies to add to their options the option by which users will be able to regulate what data the company collects about them, or the option to remove all private data from the company's servers. And wonder, little by little, something started to happen. Some companies have heard the voice of the people and are now offering the option of deactivating data collection or other regulation. Of course, it is completely understandable that no one will warn you about this possibility. Usually, companies will quietly add it to their settings so that as many people as possible notice it. Various magazines and news on the Internet will then take care of the expansion.

On this occasion, a special website has also been created, which serves as a kind of signpost, with which you can opt out of certain programs of data collection companies. This website is called Simple Opt-Out and you can view it using this link. When you go to this page, you will notice below the company names in alphabetical order. Below each company there is a table where you can find the option to opt-out from various data collection programs. For each option, the type of data collection is always described. In some cases, instead of an opt-out option, there are only instructions that you can use to prevent data collection. Of course, you must be logged in under your account on the company's website for all cases of unsubscribing from the programs.

It's one thing for companies to add a button to their site to opt out of data collection programs, or a button to delete all your data from their servers. The second thing is whether these buttons are really genuine and whether they are just a placebo. Unfortunately, we probably won't get an answer to this question, so there's nothing left to do but hope that these buttons are really genuine and do exactly what they're intended for.
