As WWDC23 approaches, information about Apple's upcoming headset is also piling up. It is the frequency of leaks that clearly indicates that we will actually see such a product of the company. Here you will find a summary of the latest information that relates to him in some way.

xrOS

The New Zealand Intellectual Property Office confirmed the registration of the word mark "xrOS" earlier this month. The application was made by the fictitious company Apple, which is a common strategy. The same company already registered an identical-sounding trademark in New Zealand in January. Apple has several companies that it uses to register trademarks and patents so that they are not directly associated with it due to leaks. So he didn't look too closely at it here, and it clearly indicates that the headset will run on a system that the company will label as such. Alongside iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS, we will also have xrOS. The name should be an obvious reference to augmented reality. Apple also has registered marks such as realityOS, Reality One, Reality pro and Reality Processor.

Apple Reality Pro

It was realityOS that was considered as the system's branding earlier, because the latest news also informs about what the device should actually be called. Most likely, it should be Apple Reality Pro, but if Apple used the same system designation, it would tie it too much to the product name. Even the iPhone used to have the iPhone OS system, but the company eventually turned it into iOS.

High expectations

Meta-owned Oculus founder Palmer Luckey is already praising Apple's upcoming device. In a cryptic post on Twitter, he simply mentioned: "Apple's headset is so good." His comment follows reports from Apple employees who have already anonymously shared their own experiences with the product. They are said to be literally "stunning" and that any classic device looks literally terrible next to it.

Limited supplies

Initial availability of Apple Reality Pro is likely to be very limited. Apple itself is said to expect certain production problems. This is allegedly due to the fact that Apple is dependent on one and only one supplier for most of the key components that make up its new product. It simply means that even if Apple shows us its new product at WWDC, it will not go on the market until December of this year.

Price

The product label itself already confirms that the price will be really high. Apple should of course expand the portfolio in the future, but it will start with the Pro model, which will start at around three thousand dollars, which is about 65 thousand CZK, to which we have to add tax. In this way, he will show us the best from the region, and with the passage of time he will lighten not only the equipment, but also the price, which would allow the product to reach more users.
