British technology company Intelligent Energy developed a new prototype of the iPhone 6, which uses built-in fuel cells, powered by hydrogen fillings, which, unlike a standard battery, can last up to a week on a single charge. Information brought daily The Telegraph. Intelligent Energy also demonstrated the use of the same principles in the MacBook Air.

This patented fuel cell system is not far from its first commercial use in cell towers located across India in just a few weeks. Electricity is created by the chemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen; this results in only a small amount of outgoing water vapor and heat as waste.

However, new technology must also be powered by something, which is why the company has developed, together with articles, special charger for the hydrogen-powered iPhone called Upp. The final breakthrough was the fact that the fuel cell fit into the body of the phone with the attached battery, without having to change the shape or size of the device.

The iPhone modified in this way receives only a few cosmetic changes. It was necessary to add rear vents to allow the small amount of water vapor that the system produces to escape. The prototype also had a slightly modified headphone jack for hydrogen refueling, but it's unclear if the final product would work the same way.

Chief Financial Officer Intelligent Energy Mark Lawson-Statham expressed himself in the sense that the company does not act on its own, but cooperates with partners. So the question arises whether Apple is also their partner. However, neither company commented on the assumptions.
