How was it scheduled, the VideoLAN studio has released a new version of its VLC player. Version 2.0 underwent a radical change, it was almost completely rewritten and also brings a change in the user interface...
VLC 2.0 "Twoflower" comes after version 1.1.x was downloaded by 485 million users. It's a significant update that brings support for multi-core processors, faster decoding, and support for more formats, including HD video and 10-bit codecs. Version 2.0 includes a new rendering chain for video with better quality subtitles and new filters to enhance the videos you play. The app supports many new devices and experimentally also supports Blu-ray discs.
The Mac and Web interfaces have been completely redesigned, while improvements to other user interface elements make the popular video player easier to use than ever. The latest update also fixes hundreds of bugs.
You can find more information about the new VLC 2.0 <a href="https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1932/8043/files/200721_ODSTOUPENI_BEZ_UDANI_DUVODU__EN.pdf?v=1595428404" data-gt-href-en="https://en.notsofunnyany.com/">here</a>, where applications can also be downloaded.
Just to warn you, after the update, the volume control via the remote control stopped working. The display settings have also disappeared, so you can't switch to the minimalist look with just the play pause stop button, but you still have a huge window with a kind of library list of radios and crap.
VLC version 2.0 is an unusable application for me. Bragging about fixing hundreds of bugs is a bit self-congratulatory when even the navigation panel doesn't work correctly for me. After installation, I immediately went back to the latest version of the first series, with which I have no problems at all.
Does anyone have a link to the penultimate version? I couldn't find it on the official website. I don't like the new version and it's buggy.
So VLC has not been winning lately and that's why I switched to MPlayerX. It suits me in everything, it's faster and plays everything. VLC latest version is des bes!
Just a little reminder - I found a few bugs there! This new version 2.0 is horrible!
Schmauz – No problemo, all previous versions are here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/vlc/files/
mykl: Thanks :)
Smoula: remote control works, it's just not visible and has an incomprehensible delay.
Otherwise, I'm also going back to the previous version, mainly because of the inability to display fullscreen video on an external (other than the main) monitor, but that's Apple's fault, I hope they fix it as soon as possible.
VLC has never been one of my favorite programs, and it's not the same on the Mac. I preferred to invest a few dollars in Movist player after I found VLC to be just as unusable and messy as it is on Windows.
Movist plays absolutely everything, it's simple, it can do subtitles, playlist and much more and the price is acceptable.
You're right. It's a parachute, even version 2.01. The version before was messy, true, but it played through everything and never crashed.
