A few weeks ago, Apple introduced a quartet of new iPhone 12. While we only saw the start of pre-orders for the iPhone 12 mini and 12 Pro Max today, the remaining pair in the form of the 12 and 12 Pro have been available for several weeks. It should be noted that the second autumn Apple Event, at which the Californian giant presented the "twelves", was not only about iPhones. The HomePod mini was also presented, and we must not forget the brand new MagSafe accessories in the form of covers, wallets and wireless chargers. One of the most interesting products is undoubtedly the MagSafe Duo wireless charger, which is supposed to replace the failed AirPower charging pad in a way.
The Californian giant has decided to start selling the new MagSafe accessories in waves on its store. We first saw the start of sales of MagSafe cables themselves, together with silicone covers and wallets. Today at 14:00 we saw the launch of pre-orders for the iPhone 12 mini and 12 Pro Max, but in addition to them, Apple also launched the sale of leather covers. There was also speculation about the start of sales of the aforementioned MagSafe Duo wireless charger, together with leather covers for the iPhone. Although the sales of these two products have not been launched, on the other hand, the apple company decided to list the aforementioned accessories, together with information about the price. And the price will take your breath away.
If you're planning to buy the "successor to AirPower" in the form of a MagSafe Duo wireless charger, or the aforementioned leather cover, then the price tag will make you dizzy. Of course, most of us suspected that these accessories would be more expensive - these are original products for which Apple has always charged larger amounts, anyway, none of us probably expected such prices, and some of you might change your mind about the purchase. In the country, Apple plans to sell the MagSafe Duo wireless charger for 3 crowns, as for the leather cover, prepare yourself for a crazy 990 crowns. For now, unfortunately, it is not clear when we will see the start of sales of these products. Apple specifically states that soon, but we will definitely inform you about this fact.
- New accessories for Apple products will be available for purchase in addition to Apple.com, for example at Alge, Mobile Emergency or u iStores
I wonder who will pay 4 grand for this travel charger without a charging adapter. I felt like a bit of a fool myself when I bought the NOMAD wireless charger for iPhone, Watch and AirPods for about 3200 crowns, but it has a power adapter, it will charge my headphones overnight or a second iPhone instead (yes, in addition to my private one and work) and it is a design gem, a metal frame with a great surface treatment, a leather storage area, in short, a joy to look at. It's not for traveling, it's for putting away, for example, on a shelf or bedside table. Few people will pay over 3 grand for something like this anyway, but who will pay a lot more for this MagSafe Duo? Although the NOMAD does not have MagSafe and will charge more slowly, it will do the same service overnight. Even bigger actually. No, Apple didn't convince me here.
The Nomad can be bought for around 2000-2500 when it's on sale, but really it's only for laying on a chair. The leather on top is terribly prone to scratching or destruction.
I currently have 2 pieces at home. I gave one as a gift and the other without the Apple Watch holder, but I still have 2 USBs in my office. This suits me best, because I have a Garmin watch, so I charge everything through this charger ;-).
However, there are significantly cheaper solutions. In Lidl, you could buy a wireless QI charger for NOK 250, and another approx. NOK 250 for a socket adapter. I've had the Lidl at home for 3 years and it's still fine, especially since it's also small, so it fits comfortably on the bedside table.
