Jan Zdarsa Notification Metal Gear Solid caused quite a stir on the handheld device field. This game had high hopes for some, and it would probably just confirm that the iPhone (and iPod Touch) is truly becoming a gaming device. But it is today lots of fans iPhone gaming and especially the Metal Gear Solid series disappointed.
As it emerged from the conversation with the developers on the 1UP server, this time it will only be about a simplified version of MGS. It won't be a stealth action at all, as fans of the series are used to, but rather just a "dull" shooter. What's more, as it looks like, the only thing you'll be able to control is the protagonist's view with one finger, if you use two fingers, you'll zoom and shoot by clicking on the screen.
In short, it can be said that it will only be about a duck shooting game with a story. This is quite sad, the community definitely expected more. Konami is said to have considered that MGS should remain stealth action, but in the end people would find the game too difficult and people would rather reach for proper action (well, at least fans of the series don't think so). On the other hand, it is said that the full content of Metal Gear Solid 4 should appear in this version, but this surprises a lot of people and we do not know exactly what was meant by this. But probably the connection to MGS4 here will be deeper than just the name and the same enemies.
