Apple currently has a huge boost to its design team led by Sir Jonathan Ive. He is none other than Marc Newson, currently one of the world's most influential product designers and also a long-term friend of Jony Ivo. Jony Ive and Marc Newson have a long history together. They last worked together on special products auctioned at a charity event (RED) led by Bono, lead singer of U2. For example, they prepared for the auction a unique version of a Leica camera, a red Mac Pro or an aluminum "unibody" table.
Newson has a large number of product designs to his credit across categories ranging from aircraft to furniture to jewelry and clothing. He made designs for companies such as Ford, Nike and Qantas Airways. Marc Newson is an Australian born, graduated from Sydney College of Arts and has been living in London since 1997. Like Jony Ive, he was awarded the Order of the British Empire for his work in design. In 2005, Time magazine ranked him among the 100 most influential people in the world.
Because of the new job, Newson will not be moving from London, he will conduct the work partly remotely, partly flying to Cupertino. "I absolutely admire and respect the incredible design work that Jony and the team at Apple have done," Newson told the site Vanity Fair. “My close friendship with Jony gives me not only a unique insight into this process, but also the opportunity to work with him and the people who are responsible for this work. I am incredibly proud to join them.” Jony Ive himself considers Newson to be one of the "most influential designers of this generation".
Over the past year, Apple has welcomed a large number of influential and successful personalities to its ranks, namely Angela Ahrendts from Burberry, Paul Deven from Yves Saint Laurent or Ben Shaffer from Nike. Newson may not be involved in the upcoming smartwatch (unless he's already been involved externally) that Apple is expected to unveil in just a few days, but it's worth noting that he himself founded watch company Ikepod.
So thanks to him we have rings everywhere in ios 7? Hmmm, thanks. Actually no.
Those shoes are horrible… just like the iPhone 5C cases, which I hope they ring as soon as possible.
You will welcome them again in your next life. When you're young again I look forward to learning how to subtly paint aluminum in a way that goes deep into the structure. Or when I can choose the color according to my mood. As, for example, with well-known light lamps. It would be nice if, for example, some part of the phone changed color due to receiving an SMS. When the "memory cover" can do it, it will be even better!
I don't think so, I was born in the cradle of bad taste of the 90s :) And since then I appreciate very few things….
Calamity, horror and horror - the others are also certain... The worst designed systems in terms of design - "iOS 7" and "OS X 10.10".
Only according to your private opinion (you forgot to add). In my opinion this is not true, I welcome this new design. :-)
I regularly use two iPhones – one with iOS 7, the other with iOS 6. In my personal opinion, I add that iOS 6 is much cooler and more intuitive. iOS 7 has garish and oversaturated colors like from a circus, everything is white, the more applications there are at first glance, it is not clear, the thin font cannot be read properly (it can be made thicker in the preferences, but it does not work everywhere), in the SMS application, the diet from kindergarten it didn't suggest white writing on a garish green background. And the icons - needless to say - the Game Center and Photos icons are almost the same, the SMS icon - as if it was designed by some carousel... And dialog windows - an area that blends in with the background... Absence of buttons... Some people like it, but ergonomically it is totally unsuitable for serious work…
Good day!
In that case, I don't understand why you use the two iPhones and not just one with the old iOS, which in your opinion is suitable for serious work. My personal opinion is that iOS 7 is a very well-designed system and it is clear that it set the design direction for many other creators and products that have nothing to do with Apple otherwise - so once again Apple inspired a piece of the world :-)
And otherwise, I think that serious work can be recognized by the result that is created, not by the iron on which it is created. In other words, you can be serious even with an old Nokia if you have something to say to it during a call ;-)
Have a nice day!
I use two iPhones because one is work and the other is private. The service is 5S and (as far as I know) iOS 6 cannot be installed there. If it is possible, I will be grateful for any information, and I will be very happy to do it... There is no point in talking about my work here, but it is much more serious than you might think...
Also, it's just your personal opinion.. :) I personally think iOS7 is a step forward. Simple, intuitive, fast. There are no unnecessary graphics anywhere, everything is generally balanced so that it works and is clear. But try WP for example, you will definitely have fun with the typography and stop complaining about iOS7/8.
But to the point..
Oversaturated colors… do you even know what saturation is? That's oversaturation... here the colors are simply bright and that's clear due to the light background, few people want to look at sad dull colors (and for those there is brightness reduction)..
But since the colors can be darkened, there's no point in messing around.
I'm curious, but how did you come up with the "SMS icon - as if it was designed by some carousel". What's wrong with the chat icon? It's a pattern that is generally experienced, so I don't understand why a carousel would be the author?!
What about color in the conversation - I agree that a green background and white font is not an ideal combination because there is not enough contrast between the background and the foreground (font).
I don't have a problem with dialog windows either, but just cancel the transparency if you think they "blend into the background".
Buttons and their absence can be solved by turning on "Button Shapes".
And from experience (regarding my work), I dare to say that Ergonomics is successful. Compared to other systems, one of the best.
But in the end, I'll take the liberty of digging... Then why are you using iOS7? After all, you have a choice - just use iOS6 or any other OS and you won't be annoyed by this, in your opinion, unintuitive system at all...
Carousel because that icon is incredibly garish and doesn't look good on the eyes - like a carousel, a shooting gallery and an amusement park or like cheap Chinese toys for small children... And why do I use iOS 7 - because it's a work mobile, it's 5S and iOS 6 is there, as far as I know, it cannot be installed. If it were possible or if I could buy a new iPhone 4S or 5 with iOS 6 and 32 GB, I would do it immediately. And why iOS - because we use proprietary applications that do not exist for other platforms. And, for example, the design of UITableView is incomparably better on iOS 6 than on iOS 7 - and it cannot be programmed, (theoretically it can, but no one will do it) it comes from the system...
I agree with Alan. I also welcome this change. The controls have practically not changed and the environment feels fresh.
I'm looking to see where Johny got his inspiration for iPhone 5C cases :))
