For those less knowledgeable – a raster is a classic photo that you take, for example, on a phone or camera. It consists of individual pixels, and possible enlargement of the photo also means worse quality. Whereas a vector is not composed of pixels, but of individual shapes and curves. Thanks to this, you can easily scale the vector up or down and never lose quality. Converting raster to vector can often be a pain, but there are applications that can handle the process for you.

If you do not own, for example, Adobe Illustrator, which deals with the creation and editing of vectors and can convert a raster to a vector in it, you can also use other free applications. Personally, from time to time I find myself in a situation where I need to convert a logo from a raster to a vector, and in this case I always use web applications vectorizer.io, which is located on the website of the same name. So the Vectorizer.io app is available free but only within a certain range. If you are not registered, you can transfer in one hour maximum of three images, when you can do on each of them maximum of ten edits. However, it should be noted that in most cases it is not even necessary to make any adjustments, as Vectorizer.io does its work very precisely and with high quality.

As I mentioned above, there are several applications available on the Internet that can convert a raster to a vector. But most of them are paid, and if you already find a free alternative, then the result is not worth anything. Once you're on the Vectorizer.io page, just click the button Upload Images, confirm cookies and upload the photo you want to convert into a vector. Once you do so, Vectorizer.io will instantly convert the photo. You can then set other options, for example by which one image type it is to achieve the best result, or you can omit certain colors. Finally, just click on the button in the right part Vectorization, which will apply the last settings. Finally tap on Download, making the photo converted to vector simply in format SVG download.
