We usually overlook death in games as a normal part of the gameplay, "game over" and sometimes the annoying necessity to replay a sequence that has already been tried. However, some games approach the concept of death differently. The entire genre of roguelikes and roguelites makes you feel the real consequences of failure, throwing you back to the start of the entire game for every death. However, other games manage to comment on the role of death in our real lives. One such is the award-winning Spiritfarer from Thunder Lotus Games.

In the role of the titular Spiritfarer, you will help anthropomorphic animal spirits to reach the afterlife. For this, your huge ship will serve you, on which you will gradually accommodate them and transport them to distant areas of the game map. With each of your "clients", you will create unique relationships that will help you understand the past of each of them and at the same time look at death from different perspectives.

In beautiful graphics and with beautiful music, however, he will not only talk to his temporary passengers. In the time between trips, you will also complete various tasks that they assign to you. They will bring you to many picturesque islands where you will meet other absurd characters. Such passages then act as a means of collecting resources, with which you can then improve your ship and build new rooms on it. This, in turn, allows you to do completely new activities - farming, crafting or a lot of mini-games, which in Spiritfarer replace classic battles with the need to move nimbly around the platforms.
