At first glance, the Persephone game is a classic variation of the Sokoban-style game genre that has been tested for years. On an area strictly divided into separate fields, you progress step by step and try to solve the game's given solution without getting stuck somewhere. The tried-and-tested genre was tested last year by the sensational Helltaker, this time comes another original concept from the developers from the Momo-pi studio. Those personify Persephone by using the main character's death as a mechanic needed to solve the puzzles.

You must always choose the right place in each of over sixty levels to your untimely demise. The dead body of the previous version of your character will remain in place and you can use it to progress further. Planned death is used to overcome otherwise insurmountable chasms or to activate dangerous traps in the game. Each death returns you to one of the checkpoints scattered throughout the levels. The original approach to death as a game mechanic is reminiscent of another game from last year, the award-winning rogue-lite Hades, and not only by using realities from Greek mythology.

Perspehone is also original in its approach to tutorialization. It does not contain any instructional instructions at all and trusts the players to figure out all the game principles while playing using the trial and error method. The game was previously released on mobile devices, where it received a warm reception. Now you can buy it, for example, on Steam for €6,59.
