Do you have an iPhone X, but the cutout on the top of the display bothers you? If you came to this displeasure only after you spent the hard-earned thirty (five) thousand crowns on the new product, you have yourself to blame. However, you will also be pleased with the application, which somehow mysteriously got into the App Store. It's called Notch Remover and it costs 29 crowns. And for some reason, Apple put it into circulation, even though applications that somehow allow hiding or modifying the upper section of the screen should be prohibited.

You can download the application here. It works on a very simple principle. In it, you choose an image that you want to use as wallpaper for both the lock screen and the main menu. The application takes the image and adds a black strip to its upper edge. After setting the image as wallpaper, it will be used to hide the cutout on the display. Thanks to the OLED panel, the black on the wallpaper looks really black and the cut-out is basically invisible. I'll leave it up to you to decide if you like the modified iPhone X like this.

Far more interesting than what the app does, however, is the fact that it managed to pass the App Store's app review network. Similar actions by developers are in direct contradiction to how Apple wants to proceed with regard to its cutout.

Do not try to mask or otherwise modify the appearance of the display panel in applications. Do not try to hide its rounded corners, placement of sensors or indicator on the display of the home screen by setting black bars on the top or bottom of the application.

This text is contained in a kind of guide for developers on how to optimize their apps for the iPhone X. Apple is not shy about the cutout on its new flagship, so the company doesn't want any app to explicitly hide it. It seems that the developers of Notch Remover are in luck, as this is exactly what their app allows. The question is how long the app will last in the App Store.
