The developers from the studios Room-C Games and Croteam were certainly talking about such a hypothesis when the idea for setting their tactical novel The Hand of Merlin was born in their heads. In it, you will take a look at ancient Europe, specifically at the British Isles, where none other than the legendary King Arthur himself ruled at the time. However, the adventure will take you far beyond the cliffs of Dover, even into other dimensions where you will fight space horrors.

The Hand of Merlin is a tactical rogue-lite at its core. With your ancient heroes, you will fight your way through ancient Europe in tactical battles, which most of all remind you of the cult series XCOM. The key to mastering ordinary enemies, as well as gradually appearing monsters from other universes, is the use of terrain, careful cover and well-timed strikes. To achieve success, you must also master the leveling system of individual heroes and the difficult decision between mutually supporting abilities.
