A new iconic Apple Store will open in Paris in a month. The current one will be closed

Another iconic Apple Store is about to open. A new apple store in the famous Champs-Élysées district of Paris will open to the public in November. However, the current Carrousel du Louvre store, which is not far from the upcoming store, will be closing soon. The wait is over

The new Apple Store in Paris has been talked about for a very long time. For example, in 2016, the Le Figaro server reported that Apple allegedly rented a seven-story building directly on the famous Avenue de Champs-Élysées, specifically with the descriptive number 114. 2 years later, this assumption is becoming a reality. Formerly home to French shoe brand JM Weston, the building will soon become one of the biggest and most iconic apple stores.

Rent 14 million euros, shop and offices

The intention to open a new Apple Store in the aforementioned building was expressed by Angela Ahrendts herself, head of retail at the Cupertino company, at a conference a year ago. The seven-story Renaissance building will be used not only as a store with a large space for Today At Apple workshops, but also as office space on the upper floors. Apple will interfere with the architecture from the outside only minimally. From the designs, it is possible to recognize, for example, enlarged glass windows on the side of the building. The fact that Apple strove hard for this location is also underlined by the fact that it pays 14 million euros per year for its rent. Which is three times what previous tenant JM Weston was paying.

The nearby Apple Store will close

A few kilometers from the upcoming store, there are currently two more Apple Stories – Opera and Carrousel du Louvre. The latter, which was the first Apple store in Paris when it opened in 2009, will close forever on October 27, 2018. In addition to the fact that the premises of this Apple Store do not correspond to the latest concept of Angela Ahrendts, the location of the store does not play into its cards either. The Carrousel du Louvre will be closed for good and its employees will be given the opportunity to work in a new shop on the Champs-Élysées.
