An input monitor is woefully missing from Apple's menu. In this regard, Apple only offers the high-end Pro Display XDR, or the slightly cheaper Studio Display, which will still cost you at least 43 crowns. If you want something basic, then you are simply out of luck. Either you reach for the current offer, or you turn to the competition. However, therein lies a rather fundamental problem. This specifically refers to the Mac mini, which is presented as the perfect entry into the world of Apple computers.

At the beginning of 2023, we saw the introduction of the updated Mac mini, which received higher performance. Now you can configure it with M2 or M2 Pro chips. The indicated problem, however, is that although the Mac mini is supposed to appear in the menu as the already mentioned entry-level model, Apple still presents it together with the Studio Display monitor, i.e. with a monitor that significantly exceeds the price of the device itself. The offer is thus incomplete. As Apple users themselves mention, Apple should come up with an entry-level monitor as soon as possible, which will be available at a reasonable price and fill this unpleasant gap. In fact, it shouldn't even be such a problem.

What the input monitor might look like

As we mentioned above, Apple should not have such a problem with the introduction of that input monitor. By all accounts, the giant already has everything it needs and it's up to him alone to see if he can pull it off to a successful finish. In fact, he could combine what has already worked for him several times - the iMac body with Retina display technology. In the end, it could practically be an iMac as such, with the only difference that it would only work in the form of a display or monitor. But it is a question whether we will see something like that at all. Apparently, Apple is not going to do anything like that (yet), and moreover, if we focus on the available speculations and leaks, it is more or less clear that they are not even thinking about such a step at the moment.

In reality, however, it may be wasting an opportunity. Apple customers are happy to pay extra for an elegant design, which creates a relatively large opportunity for it. In addition, Retina has been scoring for years. The giant from Cupertino has already proven several times that these displays are very pleasant to look at and easy to work with, which is the absolute basis for subsequent efficiency. At the same time, this brings us back to the original idea – finally, the basic Mac mini would have an appropriate monitor that would correspond to the given price category. Would you welcome the arrival of a cheaper monitor from the Apple workshop, or do you think it is a waste that the giant can do without?
