Commercial message: Due to the high price of Apple products, they are unaffordable goods for many people in the world. It's the same with popular iPhones. The iPhone 11 Pro Max 512GB is the most expensive iPhone currently available for purchase. Its price in our country is just over 40 CZK. However, iPhones do not cost the same in every country. In which country are iPhones the cheapest?

Apple purchase on amazon

It used to be that iPhones were the cheapest in the United States. Today, iPhones can be bought cheaper even in Australia. In European countries, iPhones are sold more expensively, but thanks to the high average wages of some European countries, iPhones are more affordable for the residents there. These are, for example, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Denmark and Norway.

The Czech Republic is not doing as well as, for example, the Nordic countries mentioned above. The average Czech has to earn about a month on an iPhone, provided he has no other expenses. And of course that is unrealistic.

One of the solutions can be purchase of used or refurbished iPhones, which will be cheaper. Where to get these iPhones? One of the options is the increasingly well-known company Amazon in the Czech Republic, which operates a large logistics center in the Czech Republic. The increasing number of employees of the domestic representation is often mentioned in the media of Amazon, unfortunately this company does not yet offer direct purchase from the domestic branch of Amazon. For Czech customers shopping on Amazon it pays to use one of its European portals.

The recommended European Amazon portal for domestic customers is the German version Amazon.de, through which free shipping to the Czech Republic is offered for purchases over 39 Euro.

Amazon is one of the largest marketplaces in the world, and the prices of used and refurbished iPhones are in some cases very favorable. When buying a used or refurbished phone through Amazon, the customer has a detailed description of the condition of the device. In some cases, the customer receives a significant discount on the price of the device simply because it is a returned phone that is missing a manual or some accessories or has a damaged original box in which the device is sold. Amazon compensates for this shortcoming with a large discount against the price of a new device.

Apple's cheapest iPhone

Where are the cheapest iPhones sold?

It used to be 20-50% cheaper to get an iPhone in the US than in Europe, especially when buying in countries with a low tax rate. Those days are long gone. According to the latest sources, it is the cheapest country to buy an iPhone is Japan. It is followed by Australia, South Korea and then the United States.

The price of iPhones from the United States does not include VAT, which vary across states. However, some states have zero tax, which is why it is possible to buy certain iPhone models here very cheaply. The iPhone 11 Pro Max 64GB is now $1 USD here. Including tax, its final price is somewhere between $099 and $1 USD depending on the state.

Other countries where iPhone prices are consistently the best include Hong Kong. Czech prices for Apple products differ drastically from countries where iPhones can be bought cheaply. The differences are sometimes even so great that the price difference also included a flight ticket for a holiday. While in Hong Kong the iPhone 11 Pro Max 512 GB costs CZK 35, the same model is available here for 925 thousand more.

On the other hand, where is the iPhone not worth buying? Latin America continues to have some of the most expensive Apple products in the world. Brazil is among the most expensive countries to buy Apple products, with iPhones costing around 74% more than in the United States. Mexico and Argentina also have high iPhone prices.

By far the most but for a phone from Apple the customer pays in South American Venezuela. Due to hyperinflation, the price of consumer electronics here has climbed to record highs. Here, the iPhone device can cost up to millions, which is why it is one of the completely unaffordable goods for its residents.

Is it worth going abroad for the iPhone?

It used to be worth it to travel to other European countries for an iPhone with a good ticket. It was possible to save several hundred, in the case of Germany, up to a thousand crowns on the prices of the iPhone 7 and 8. However, with the passage of time prices are more and more leveling out. In Austria, prices differ by two hundred crowns on average, even iPhones are more expensive in Slovakia.

Poland and Hungary also have relatively expensive iPhones. It's not even worth going to Italy or Spain for an iPhone. Outside of Europe, residents of China, India and Pakistan have also been making money on the iPhone for a long time. Although Apple products are not the cheapest in the Czech Republic, they are still more affordable for us than for a large part of the world.

iPhones can also be found cheap here too. Just look in one of the many online bazaars and buy a used or refurbished iPhone model. Buying on Amazon can also ensure relatively favorable prices.
