When Microsoft announced significant cooperation with the CNN election study, he probably had no idea what a fiasco the live broadcast, in which Surface tablets were supposed to appear, among other things, would end. The editors of the American television station finally found a slightly different use for the tablets than expected - they made a support for iPads.
Microsoft was supposed to provide other services for CNN, but it was the Surface tablets that were supposed to do the biggest advertising for the company from Redmond. However, when the political studio, providing live commentary on the course of the US congressional elections, started, there were Surfaces on the tables, but the editors hid their iPads behind them.
In the end, rather than promotion, there was another big failure of Microsoft's marketing campaign, when its tablets served only as a stand for competing iPads. For example, Microsoft previously had a campaign in the NFL where commentators referred to the Surface as an "iPad"-type tablet without actually naming it.
So CNN will probably pay a decent fine - especially after articles like this one!
that's quite a bummer. If the moderators were ordered to use the surface, then they are not only calling MS, but also CNN itself..
It's a regular ad, Apple does it anyway. But it's a shame that they didn't take care to use it and the money from Microsoft might not be there.
after all, I won't use cocoa..well :)
I don't know what they expected when everyone has all the documents in their device. I would also use my surface :)
well, it will be joy in the cottage (CNN) :-)
Microsoft supplied CNN with the most expensive iPad stand :D
Surface Pro $999, iPad $499 :-)
