When Apple finally launched the iTunes Store in the Czech Republic, we only got music content and it was discussed how it would be with video content. Today we have the answer. The ability to buy and rent movies has quietly appeared in iTunes.

"In silence" is a very apt expression, because you won't find this section in the usual way, the movies tab is still missing. However, if you search for a movie, a section of movies and series will appear among the results. Then just select the movie and you can access the entire movie section from the movie tab.

Apple is probably still adding to the movie database, which is why it is not yet accessible in the usual way, that will probably come at the official launch. And how are the prices? You can buy the movie for a price 9,99 € or lend for 2,99 € whether 3,99 € in HD resolution (720p). There are not many HD movies on offer yet, but a much larger number can be expected once the Czech catalog is complete.

If you are wondering how renting movies actually works, you have a movie rented for 30 days, during which you can start playing the movie. Once you click on Play, you then have 48 hours to finish watching the movie. Not everyone watches a movie for one viewing, so 48 hours gives a person the opportunity to continue the next day. Movies can of course be transferred between Apple devices, they will even remember where you finished watching on one device and it is possible to continue from that point on, for example, the iPad.

All available films are available in their original version, Czech dubbing or subtitles are not available. It is not yet known whether this option will be available. All films include, among other things, a Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack. So when the video content is already available in the Czech Republic, there is a high probability that we will soon see official distribution Apple TV, which could be announced alongside the movie content on iTunes, which could probably be today or tomorrow.
