Apple first came up with wireless charging for iPhones in 2017, when the iPhone 8 (Plus) and the revolutionary X model were revealed. However, many people believe that this is the first product with wireless charging support from the Cupertino giant's workshop. However, this is not entirely true and it is necessary to look a little more into history. Specifically, in 2015, the Apple Watch smart watch was introduced to the world. These are (until now) charged using a charging cradle, which you only need to snap to the body of the watch with magnets and the power is activated immediately, without having to bother with, for example, connecting cables to connectors and the like.

In terms of wireless charging support, Apple AirPods wireless headphones have been added to iPhones and Apple Watch. At the same time, we can also include the Apple Pencil 2 here, which is magnetically attached to the iPad Pro/Air. But when we think about it, isn't it woefully little? In this regard, of course, we do not mean that, for example, MacBooks should also receive this support, certainly not. But if we look at the offer of the Cupertino giant, we will find several products for which wireless charging would bring incredible comfort.

What products deserve wireless charging

As we mentioned above, there are several interesting products in Apple's offer that definitely deserve support for wireless charging. Specifically, we mean, for example, the Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad or the Apple TV Siri Remote. All of these accessories are still dependent on connecting a Lightning cable, which is very impractical for a mouse, for example, because the connector is located on the bottom. Connecting to the network will temporarily prevent you from using it. Of course, an important question is also how wireless charging should actually look like in such a case. Relying on the same method that we have for example with iPhones and AirPods would probably be very impractical. Please try to imagine how you would have to put a Magic Keyboard like this on a wireless charging pad for the power to even initialize.

In this regard, Apple could theoretically be inspired by the charging cradle for the Apple Watch. Specifically, it could have a directly marked point on its accessories, where it would be enough just to click the charger and the rest would be secured automatically, just like with the aforementioned watch. Of course, something similar is easy to say, but harder to implement. We simply cannot see the complexity of such a solution. But if Apple was able to come up with such a relatively comfortable solution for one product, it certainly cannot be a big obstacle to deploy it elsewhere. However, efficiency can be unclear, for example. It is necessary to take into account that, for example, the Apple Watch Series 7 offers a battery with a capacity of 309 mAh, while the Magic Keyboard has a battery with a capacity of 2980 mAh.

In any case, the aforementioned Siri Remote appears to be a great candidate for wireless charging. We recently informed you about the presented novelty from Samsung called Eco Remote. This is also a controller that came with a really interesting improvement. Its previous version already offered a solar panel for automatic charging, but now it also has a function that allows the product to absorb a Wi-Fi signal and convert it into energy. This is a brilliant solution, as a wireless Wi-Fi network can be found in almost every home. However, which direction Apple will take is of course unclear. At the moment, we can only hope that it won't take him too long.
