Users worldwide as of this morning reports a strange problem they encountered on one of their Apple products. Out of the blue, the device started asking for passwords to iCloud accounts, but then those accounts were locked and users were forced to reset them and set a new password. No one knows yet why this happens.

I have encountered this problem personally. This morning, out of the blue, my iPhone prompted me to sign in to my iCloud account again in the settings. After entering the password, information appeared that the iCloud account was locked and that it needed to be unlocked.

This was followed by a re-login to the iCloud account, then the system asked to change the password. After setting a new password, there was an option to sign out all the devices connected to my iCloud account. It was only after this whole process that my iCloud account was unlocked again and the iPhone could be used normally. Logging in on the other devices linked to my account then followed logically.

This same problem has affected users all over the world and no one knows why this is happening. A similar procedure is common in the case of account compromise or any breach of its security. If something really happened, Apple should inform about it in the next few hours. At the moment we don't know anything concrete and everything is just at the level of speculation. If you are also affected by this problem, we recommend that you restore your iCloud account with a new password as soon as possible.
