In this regular column, every day we look at the most interesting news that revolves around the California company Apple. Here we focus exclusively on the main events and selected (interesting) speculations. So if you are interested in current events and want to be informed about the apple world, definitely spend a few minutes on the following paragraphs.

Some iPhone users complain about lower battery life

Recently, the official and community forums dedicated to the Californian giant are starting to fill up with posts from users who are dealing with degraded battery life on their Apple phones. At first glance, it might seem that the native Music app is to blame. It could be responsible for battery problems. A minority of users with various models started to register this error. But they have one thing in common – the iOS 13.5.1 operating system. In this version, the Music application shows several hours of activity in the background, which is of course directly related to battery drain. The problem also appears on newly purchased products. User Mojo06 allegedly recently purchased a brand new iPhone 11, on which he still hasn't even opened the aforementioned Music app. But when he looked at the battery settings, specifically at its state represented by the graph, he found that the application had consumed 18 percent of that battery in the last 85 hours.

If you also encounter similar problems, we have some tips for you. Force quitting the app, restarting/restoring the iPhone, reinstalling the app, turning off automatic downloads (Settings-Music-Automatic Downloads), turning off cellular data, or canceling downloads within your library may help. Let's hope that Apple will look at the teeth of this problem as soon as possible and solve it effectively.

Anker has launched a HomeKit security camera

The concept of a smart home is gaining more and more popularity. In this regard, of course, even Apple did not rest on its laurels, and years ago it showed us a solution called HomeKit, with which we can unite products from the smart home itself and, for example, control them via the Siri voice assistant. Smart lighting is probably the most well-known at the moment. However, we must not forget about smart cameras, with the help of which we can maximize the security of our homes. Today, the renowned company Anker announced the launch of sales of their new eufyCam 2 Pro security camera, which was parked next to eufy brand products in their offer. So let's take a look together at the conveniences that this product actually offers.

You can view the camera here (BestBuy):

The eufyCam 2 Pro camera is capable of filming in 2K resolution, offering a perfectly sharp image. It also goes without saying that the HomeKit Secure Video function is supported, which means that all content is encrypted and stored on iCloud, while the user can access individual recordings through the native Home application. Since this is a smart camera, we must not neglect its main function. This is because it can handle the detection of a person, when it also takes care of privacy, and therefore everything takes place directly on the camera, without any data being sent back to the company. The eufyCam 2 Pro still manages a 140° viewing angle, allows users to customize notifications, supports Two-Way Audio, which makes it capable of receiving and transmitting sound, and has no problem with night vision either.

We must not forget to mention that in order to be able to use the aforementioned HomeKit Secure Video feature at all, you will need to have at least a 200GB plan on iCloud. The product is currently only available in North America, where the entire set costs $350, i.e. a little over eight thousand crowns. One camera will then cost $150, or about three and a half thousand crowns.

Apple is working on a new feature for Apple Pay

We'll end today's summary with a fresh speculation. The code of the iOS 14 operating system revealed a very interesting novelty that indicates a new function for Apple Pay. Users could make payments by simply scanning a QR or barcode, for which they would pay with the aforementioned Apple payment method. References to this news were discovered by the magazine 9to5Mac in the second beta version of iOS 14. But the interesting thing is that this function was not even announced during the opening keynote for the WWDC 2020 conference. It can therefore be expected that the possibility of paying via Apple Pay for a scanned code is only in its infancy for the time being, and a full-fledged implementation is yet to come we'll have to wait.
