When Apple launched the first iPhone in 2007, it talked about a revolution. However, the average user may not have noticed any significant revolution at first glance. Apple's first smartphone was quite simple and pared down compared to some of the competition's pieces, and it lacked a number of features that other manufacturers routinely offered.

But a lot has changed since then. One of Apple's biggest competitors at the time - Nokia and Blackberry - practically disappeared from the scene, gradually taking over smartphones from Microsoft, which bought Nokia in the past. The smartphone market is currently dominated by two giants: Apple with its iOS and Google with Android.

It would be misleading to think about these operating systems in terms of "better vs. worse". Each of these two platforms offers specific advantages to its target group, and with Android in particular, many users praise its openness and flexibility. Google is much more accommodating than Apple when it comes to allowing developers access to some basic phone functions. On the other hand, there are a number of features that Android users "envy" Apple users. This topic recently earned its own interesting thread on the net Reddit, where users were asked if there was something the iPhone could do that their Android device couldn't.

User guyaneseboi23, who opened the discussion, said that he wished Android offered a similar quality of compatibility as the iPhone. "An iPhone paired with another Apple device just works right away without the need for any additional setup," he describes, adding that there are plenty of apps that come out first for iOS and also work better on iOS.

Among the pure Apple functions that owners of Android devices praised were Continuity, iMessage, the possibility of simultaneous recording of screen content and audio tracks from the phone, or a physical button for muting the sound. A feature that has been a part of iOS since the very beginning, and it consists of the ability to move to the top of the page by simply tapping the top of the screen, received a great response. In the discussion, users also highlighted, for example, more frequent system updates.

What do you think can make Android users jealous of Apple users and vice versa?
