Could the success of the iPhone X negatively affect other iPhone models in 2019 and 2020? Pierre Ferragu, an analyst at New Street Research, says yes. In an interview with CNBC, he said that so many users have decided to switch to the iPhone X this year that it is possible that successful sales of the current model will result in reduced demand for future models.

According to the analyst, not even a cheap iPhone with a 6,1" LCD display will meet with such high sales as Apple might imagine. Ferragu predicts that iPhone profit in 2019 could be as much as 10% below Wall Street expectations. At the same time, he points to the fact that when sales are lower than Wall Street's expectations, it also affects the company's shares. Therefore, he advises clients to sell the company's shares, whose value recently reached one trillion, in time.

"iPhone X has been very successful and has been well received by consumers," reports Ferraga. "It's been so successful that we think it's ahead of demand," supplies. The reduced sales could continue into 2020, according to Ferraguo. The analyst says that Apple will sell a total of 65 million units of the iPhone X this year, and another more than 30 million units of the iPhone 8 Plus. It offers a comparison with the iPhone 6 Plus, which sold 2015 million units in 69. He does not deny that this is still a supercycle, but warns that demand will decline in the future. According to him, the culprit is that iPhone owners tend to stick with their current model for longer and postpone the upgrade.

Apple is expected to introduce a trio of new models next month. These should include the 5,8-inch iPhone X successor, the 6,5-inch iPhone X Plus, and a cheaper model with a 6,1-inch LCD display. The other two models should have an OLED display.
