The iPhone Dev-Team released an unlock called Ultrasn0w. So if you bought a locked iPhone 4 from abroad, this article is for you!
If you want to use your new iPhone 4 on a network other than the one it is blocked for, you can use the newly released Ultrasn0w 1,0 to unlock the phone. Simply follow the instructions below to unlock iPhone 4 IOS 4.0.1 / 4.0 on 01.59.00 baseband. Unlock requires your device to be Jailbreak. If you don't have it, look at instruction. After you Jailbreak, you can now unlock your iPhone on any band using Ultrasn0w 1.0-1 from Cydia.
Approach:
- Click on Cydia
- Then on Manage and then Sources
- Edit and then on Add. You will be prompted to enter the resource URL as shown in the following image. Write http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com and then Add source.
- Cydia now automatically updates its feed after a series of automated steps.
- After the update is complete, search for ultrasn0w 1.0-1 and let it install. This app automatically unlocks your iPhone so you can now use any carrier.
Now that's enough restart iPhone and voila! iPhone 4 Unlocked! In the series of images, we can see that the signal really picked up. Good luck.
Warning: Before you start, I would like to point out that nI am not responsible for any loss of important data or malfunction of your iPhone. You do everything at your own risk.
Does this only work for OS 4.0.1 or is it necessary for OS 4.0.0 as well?
Is it possible to upload the original iOS without jailbreak after unlocking? Will the phone stay unlocked?
I want to ask if I were to buy a phone in the USA, so I sign a contract with AT&T, I think that I will use it for two years, and if I take the iPhone to unlock it and go to vodafone for example, will everything be OK? I won't have to pay anything or anything? thank you for answer :-)
You will pay the flat rate with AT&T and I think that it will not be possible to sign the contract for a European, they may want a US credit card or a social security number, I think that a Czech citizen will not be enough for them.
That's it: if you do a restore or flash a fw, you will have to do a jb and unlock again and probably also activation with a sim at&t or some sim that is specially modified for this, activation probably won't be necessary for a restore
but for the upgrade, yes.
So you can say that you can't buy an iPhone in the USA
Well, since they are already sold unlocked in Europe, it loses its meaning and will only bring problems, the need for JB and unlock
