Last week, there was supposed to be a major twist in the upcoming film about Steve Jobs - the Sony studio backed out of the filming and according to the magazine The Hollywood Reporter it was immediately taken over by another studio, Universal Pictures. In the end, the main role should really be played by Michael Fassbender speculated like the last one.

It was first reported last week that Sony had finally given up on the film after long delays, especially when it was not possible to find an actor for the main role of Steve Jobs. The Hollywood Reporter now this information confirmed, as well as the fact that Universal Pictures is taking on the film, which a spokesperson confirmed. According to unofficial information, the entire Universal Pictures project was supposed to cost more than 30 million dollars.

In terms of personnel, who will create the film, nothing should change. Aaron Sorkin wrote the screenplay for the film based on the official biography of Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson, Danny Boyle will direct it. Scott Rudin, Mark Gordon and Guymon Casady will be producing, with Michael Fassbender expected to be cast in the lead role.

He was approached by the filmmakers after a demanding role at the beginning of November he refused Christian Bale. The film, which still lacks an official title, should start shooting in the coming months, so the cast needs to be finally finalized. In addition to Fassbender, Jessica Chastain is also rumored to be involved Seth Rogen (as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak). However, none of them have been officially confirmed yet.

What is certain so far is that the film will be divided into three parts, which will discuss three key presentations in the career of Steve Jobs. Screenwriter Sorkin recently too he revealed, that Jobs' daughter will play a key role in the film.
