On the Chinese forum Weiphone a photo has surfaced that reveals the specifications of the upcoming 13″ MacBook Pro. A lot was expected from the new series, apart from certain Ivy Bridge processors, it should have been Retina displays, Nvidia graphics cards with the Kepler architecture or a thinner body without a DVD drive.
However, the leaked specs show that it will only be a small improvement, especially in speed. The MacBook will receive a dual-core Intel Ivy Bridge processor at a frequency of 2,5 GHz, which also includes an integrated HD Graphics 4000 graphics card, which is about a third more powerful than the previous model, there is no dedicated card. The display remained the same with the same resolution, and the dimensions and weight correspond to the current model. The 500GB hard drive hasn't changed either. The value of RAM remained at 4 GB, only the working frequency increased to 1600 MHz.
Among other improvements, we can find USB ports in version 3.0 and economical Bluetooth 4.0. The optical mechanism has been preserved. One can only hope that this is not a real photo, as the enhancements are not particularly enticing. The entry-level MacBook Pro never broke specs records, but one begins to feel that innovation has completely abandoned MacBooks. There is still a possibility that it would be a new low-end, which would be more affordable and should replace the deceased white MacBook.
Or the chance that this is a "competition battle" - how else to dissuade a potential buyer from waiting for a new, fantastic product from Apple, than to spoil it in advance? :)
Maybe I'm wrong, but wouldn't this be a good shot in the competitive battle for the customer's attention?
I'm more concerned about USB 3.0. I thought Apple was trying to push Thunderbolt.
Pushing Thunderbolt is one thing, but Apple cannot afford to stop installing USB in its devices, so even though USB is now USB3.0, Thunderbolt still has the upper hand against USB3.0, it also offers other options, so I would not see these two interfaces as competitors but complementary friends ;)
There are quite a lot of jokes with the usb3, of course apple will supply it with the OS, but it's just such an OT gem. We recently bought a new device that only had USB 3, the machine does not have a DVD drive. We ran a clean win 7 installer from the original system, but it doesn't have a USB 3 driver in the base, it didn't recognize the wifi, because it was also new and it didn't even recognize the cable. So it's quite fun to get something into it :D.
This is quite a usual woken thing ;) nothing surprising…
Yes, but the person doesn't realize it at the time, and when he is sitting in front of the machine, into which he is not actually able to get anything, the smile falls out of shape :D
Didn't even WiFi work? ;) Then just remove the HDD and connect it to another PC ;)
she carried she carried, there were all the latest things and practically nothing fell. We solved it in the end by restoring the oem system, downloading the drivers to another partition and reinstalling it again on pure ultimate, then the problem was gone :-)
People start to fantasize about some specifications, then they start to really believe it and take it as a given and when Apple doesn't introduce it, it's a disappointment...
"Preinstalled Mac OS X and iLife"
I thought that Apple no longer pre-installs iLife...
It's all bullshit anyway.
iLife is still preinstalled, I bought a MacMini yesterday and they are there ;)
I did not have it pre-installed in Aire 2010
"There is still the possibility that it would be a new low-end, which would be more affordable and should replace the deceased white MacBook." - That would probably be possible, but in terms of price, Apple probably said that, the original white MacBook is being replaced by the MBA 11,6″, so I would not fully believe that option here. Besides, who cares about MBP these days ;) when MBA offers better basic equipment. The absence of dedicated graphics bothers me quite a bit, as I already mentioned somewhere, I like that I have an MBA 13″ late 2010 model, when the graphics were still nVidia. In addition, the big thing for MBA is the display resolution, so the MBP is completely out of line in this regard, and it is also not a delicacy in terms of weight. However, if the MBP reduced the weight and thickness, added a better resolution, dedicated graphics and removed the optical drive, it would be an interesting device.
BTW, I wonder why every leaked "guaranteed" photo is so blurry, every average phone takes better photos these days, so this is really weird...
13″ MacBook Pro will not! don't you get it? What will be left of the MB Pro when they take the DVD drive out of it? AIR! There will be MacBook Air 11″, 13″, 15″ and then MacBook Pro 15″ and 17″
I agree!
No. No Apple computer will have a drive after the introduction of new models. I'll bet on that.
