Already in the review Preschool bags we brought you closer to who Jan Friml is, what he does and what applications he creates. This Czech father saw the great potential of the iPad in the field of children's education and therefore began to produce educational applications. He dedicated his software products to his own children, but at the same time he tries to help other parents and their children.
Mark friml.net has already come up with a relatively respectable number of applications for the very smallest, but also preschool and school children. Experienced educators and experts from the relevant fields of children's education participated in the development of applications with their advice. Today we take a closer look at the newest piece from the developer's portfolio so far - Vocabulary for children.
The application that we will introduce is intended primarily for first-year students. They are starting to master writing at school. They learn the first letters, write and read shorter words. Previously, only a syllabary was used to teach this type, but today we have more modern methods. Thanks to new technologies, we can make teaching more interactive and fun. They are one of such modern methods Vocabulary for children.
The principle of the application is simple. First, the category of words that will be practiced is selected, and then it is possible to move on to the practice itself. An illustrative image that represents the given word will always appear on the display. The child then has the task of assembling it from large printed letters, which he achieves by simply moving the tokens to the appropriate positions.
With one press, it is also possible to start a professional voice guide, so that the child can have the word read. Thanks to this, the child's auditory perception is also strengthened. In addition, there is a help text. She completes the word herself, and the child essentially learns to read because he sees the picture and the written form of the corresponding word at the same time.
As we are used to with applications from this developer, i Vocabulary for children they have their elaborate parenting side. Thanks to it, the parent can add new words. To these he can assign either a photo taken by the iPad or select any other image from the iPad library. To make the function of adding new words perfect, the parent can also speak a phonetic hint with their own voice. The last step is to classify the word into the appropriate category. The added words therefore function in full and have the same status in the application as the original words.
Vocabulary for children are a very successful application that shows us that the iPad is not only a toy and "ruin" for today's children, but also a very capable teaching tool that can improve the quality of every child's education. Almost every first-grader would rather sit down at a modern tablet with a display than at an old syllabary, so teaching with an iPad is often more effective. A child can last much longer with an iPad.
ed pedagogical trends and in the application catalog the child will meet 115 words that are most often found in classic school syllabaries. For the sake of completeness, I would like to add that the thematic areas of the vocabulary include: Family and body, Home, Things, Food, Fruits and vegetables, Animals and Miscellaneous. You can download Vocabulary for children from the App Store for a relatively friendly price of 1,79 euros, for which you get a full-fledged application that will never ask you for any additional transactions inside the application, nor will it bother you with advertising.

I bought. But after the second run, my preinstalled image library is deleted and the app prompts me to make my own.
The same thing happened to us. Create your own images :(
I always uninstall and reinstall it, but that's a really bad approach. Especially when the application is paid and tempting. And he sometimes gets mad at dragging letters. Instead of starting to drag the letter, I scroll up/down in the letters. Maybe it would like to test it more or use two fingers to move the letters.
Hello,
Thank you very much for your notice! It is interesting that I did not notice this error during extensive testing during development, or she didn't show herself. Anyway, I'm already working on a fix and will be going to Apple for approval very soon. By estimation, the update could be available for free within about 10 days.
Ad Control letters: instructions are given inside the application - if you touch a token, you move the token. If you touch outside of a chip, you move the chip stack. Additionally, this is highlighted by the vertical arrows next to the tokens. It felt more natural to me than the two finger gestures. Anyway, thank you for your opinion and comment, I appreciate it.
I am happy to share my problems. I have the same problem, the second time I start I don't have a gallery and when I try to create my own, I scrolled after the second picture and nothing. We got used to scrolling and learned, but deleting and re-installing the entire application is really stupid...
