But those days are long gone. Now everyone can practice spelling on their iPhone or iPad. Just download the cool app Learn Spelling.

Learn Spelling is a practical and good-looking learning application that really anyone can use. The application does not go around the hot mess and immediately when you open it, it shows you the options to start the test. You can choose from five different categories of examples that will then be shown to you in the test. You can practice i/y endings, listed words, the distinction bje/bje, me/mne, prefixes with/after ú/ů. The last (sixth) category is uppercase and lowercase letters, which can be purchased for €0,89. Of course, you can tick more than one category to test at once, and then just select the number of examples and press the START button.

After starting the test, you will always see the given example and your task is to complete the correct letter or syllable, while the completion is done by choosing from the options. The great advantage of the application is that whether you answer correctly or incorrectly, the application always provides a brief explanation as to why the given phrase is written the way it is. Learn to spell so it's really a learning app that will help you understand your mistakes and not repeat them in the future.

At the top of the screen you can always see how many examples you have already gone through and how many are left. At the same time, the number of correct and incorrect answers and your success percentage can be seen. After the end of the test, a clear table summarizing the results will be displayed, which you can look at, in which categories of examples you made mistakes, etc.

If it is not enough for you to just test your already acquired abilities, but you also need a little explanation, the application will certainly not disappoint you. In the left pull-out panel, you can click over to the Pullers section, where you will find an overview of the listed words and a list of patterns of nouns and adjectives. A nice bonus for the listed words is also a list of local and proper names that are written with a hard y (Bydžov, Kobylisy, Hrabyně,...). The pattern overview, on the other hand, will offer a detailed table of their declensions in the singular and plural.

The application gets along well with Google+, and if you connect it to this social network, you will expand the capabilities of the application by just a kind of human side. Thanks to Google+, you can track your ranking in a special ranking and collect special badges, which you can of course brag about on the Internet.

If I had to say a final word about the application, I would rate it Learn to spell definitely positive. There are never enough educational apps, and this one is definitely a good one. The database of examples is very decent, and during testing I did not encounter any repetition of phrases. The design is also very cool and modern, which fits nicely into the flat and colorful concept of iOS 7. However, some may regret that the application is really only intended for this system and will not work on older versions of iOS. Learn to spell you can download for free in the universal version for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch in the App Store.
