Apple has long been trying to show the world that iOS devices are not just nice toys for consuming content and playing games, but also have other functions and uses. The iPhone and especially the iPad are, among other things, also a great teaching aid. iPads already have a firm place in the field of education, which is due not only to Apple's efforts, but also to the great work of independent developers. They discovered that the Apple tablet has great predispositions to become an educational tool, because thanks to its easy and intuitive operation, it can be used to teach even the smallest children.

Czech educational applications are constantly increasing, and we have already informed you about some of them. Today, however, we will delve into waters we have not yet visited and introduce a unique project called Playful songs.

As the name suggests, the app revolves entirely around songs. The creators set themselves the task of supporting children's musical sensibilities and present ten Czech folk songs in a fun way. The application is not unnecessarily complicated and individual songs can be selected right on the main screen, where they are presented with a name and a small picture.

After selecting a song, a screen with several options will appear. You can choose who will sing the song in a simple way, and you can choose between male, female and children's voices. The singer can be changed even while the song is playing. It is possible to combine the voices in different ways, let them sing at the same time, or turn them off completely. After that, it is enough to choose whether an image or classic musical notation will be displayed when the song is played.

If you choose the option with sheet music, you can of course join in with your own musical instrument and accompany the song. If you choose the variant with a picture, you will be pleasantly surprised by the beautiful thematic illustrations of artist Radek Zmítek, which also move. The lyrics of the song are always displayed at the top of the screen, which is sure to be a handy help for kids who can already read.

Apart from listening and possibly singing, the child has only one task that he can undertake. When playing a song, a field in the shape of a sunflower is displayed in the lower right corner (for the variant with a picture), on which the child taps the rhythm of the given song. The tapping animation of the early birds, which is located right next to this sunflower, serves as an aid in this task. When the song ends, a field of five flowers will appear, the blossoms of which will open depending on how successful the child was at tapping. The continuous evaluation can be followed already during the song according to the color of the sunflower petals.

As such, they contain a small bonus Playful songs and a relaxation screen, which can be launched by pressing the appropriate icon from the application's main screen. This is a nice picture of a garden, which is gradually completed in connection with how the child collects points for tapping the rhythm. New flowers grow in the garden, a tree grows and new objects appear on the fence.

Playful songs are a very successful application that develops children's creative abilities and helps build their relationship with music. It also contains classic folk songs that children should definitely know. All melodies come from Anežka Šubrová's workshop. The application is universal and can therefore be run on iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch devices.
