The release of the iPod in October 2001 is one of the most important milestones in Apple's history. For many customers, it was also the moment when they began to pay more attention to Apple, and for many, perhaps also the beginning of long-term loyalty to the Cupertino company. The device, which was so small from the point of view of the time, was able to play a large amount of music and fit comfortably even in a smaller pocket. Shortly before the iPod, the iTunes service also saw the light of day, giving users the opportunity to literally have their entire music library in the palm of their hand. The iPod was far from the world's first MP3 player, but it quickly became the most popular. The way it was promoted also had a lot to do with it - we all know the legendary dancing commercials. Let's remind them in today's article.

iPod 1th generation

Even though the first-generation iPod ad is relatively old, many people today—including marketing specialists—find it downright awesome. It is simple, inexpensive, with a completely clear message. The ad features a man dancing to Propellerheads' "Take California" in his apartment while managing and organizing his music library on iTunes. The ad ends with the legendary slogan “iPod; a thousand songs in your pocket”.

iPod Classic (3rd and 4th generation)

When the word "iPod commercial" is mentioned, most of us will surely think of the famous dancing silhouettes on a colorful background. Apple had several commercials of this series filmed at the beginning of this millennium, and although they are the same in a way, each of them is worth it. The idea was brilliantly simple and simply brilliant – plain dark silhouettes, bold colored backgrounds, catchy music and an iPod with headphones.

iPod Shuffle (1st generation)

2005 was the year of the arrival of the first generation iPod Shuffle. This player was even smaller than its predecessors, with no display and only 1GB of storage. It was priced at "just" $99 when it launched. As with the above-mentioned iPod Classic, Apple bet on the tried-and-tested advertisement with silhouettes and catchy music for the iPod Shuffle – in this case, it was Jerk it OUt by Caesers.

iPod Nano (1st generation)

The iPod Nano served as the successor to the iPod Mini. It offered essentially the same as the iPod Classic in a much smaller body. At the time of its release, advertisements with silhouettes were still a hit with Apple, but in the case of the iPod Nano, Apple made an exception and shot a slightly more classic spot, in which the product was briefly but enticingly presented to the world in all its glory.

iPod Shuffle (2st generation)

The second-generation iPod Shuffle earned the nickname "clip-on iPod" from some users because of the clip that made it easy to attach it to clothing, a pocket, or the strap of a bag. And it was precisely the clip-on design that became the central theme of advertisements for this model.

iPod Nano (2st generation)

Apple has dressed the second generation of its iPod Nano in an anodized aluminum chassis in six bright colors. The advertisement through which Apple promoted its 2nd generation iPod Nano was styled reminiscent of the legendary silhouettes, but in this case the colors of the newly released player were the focus.

iPod Classic (5th generation)

The iPod Classic of the fifth generation brought a novelty in the form of the ability to play videos on a color and surprisingly high-quality display. At the time of the launch of the player, Apple called the Irish group U2 to arms, and in a shot from their concert, it clearly demonstrated that even on the small screen of the iPod, you can fully enjoy your experience.

iPod Nano (3st generation)

For a change, the third generation iPod Nano was nicknamed "the fatty nano". It was the first player in the Nano product line to feature video playback capabilities. The commercial promoting this model featured the song 1234 by Fiesta, which was long remembered by everyone who saw the spot.

iPod Touch (1st generation)

The first iPod Touch was released around the same time as the iPhone, and offered a number of similar features. It featured Wi-Fi connectivity and a multi-touch display, and many referred to it as the "iPhone without calling". After all, even the spot through which Apple promoted this model was very similar to the ads for the first iPhones.

iPod Nano (5st generation)

The fifth generation iPod Nano brought with it a number of firsts. For example, it was the first iPod equipped with a video camera and featured a completely new, sleek look with rounded corners. The advertisement for the iPod Nano of the fifth generation was, as it should be, lively, colorful ... and of course the main role was played by the camera.

iPod Nano (6st generation)

The sixth-generation iPod Nano combined the clip-in design first introduced with the second-generation iPod Shuffle. In addition to the buckle, it was also equipped with a multi-touch display, and among other things, Apple provided it with an M8 motion coprocessor, thanks to which users could also use their iPod Nano to measure the distance traveled or the number of steps.

iPod Touch (4st generation)

The fourth generation iPod Touch was equipped with a front and rear camera with the ability to record video recordings. In addition, this model could boast a retina display. In its advertisement for the fourth generation iPod Touch, Apple properly and attractively presented all the possibilities that this player offered to users.

iPod Touch (5st generation)

When Apple released its fifth-generation iPod Touch, it surprised much of the public. So far, it has been promoting the latest version of its music player with a multi-touch display through a snappy, cheerful commercial in which the iPod in all colors bounces, flies and dances.
