Future and as yet unreleased Apple devices are a fairly frequent topic of our speculation series. It won't be any different this week either, in addition to hints of the upcoming iPad or Mac, there will also be talk about Apple's search engine and the protective layer of the display of a possible folding iPhone.

Upcoming iPad or Mac

In the product Bluetooth database, a new entry appeared last week, containing a mention of a "personal computer" from Apple's workshop. It could be not only about one of the upcoming Macs, which have been speculated about for a long time, but also about a new iPad model. In the mentioned list of devices, there is the code "B2002", which is included in the category of personal computers - this category is used by Apple for both macOS and iPadOS devices. Unfortunately, no other details are found on the mentioned list, so it is not clear whether this is an upcoming Mac with an Apple Silicon processor, or perhaps an iPad Pro with 5G connectivity. Some sources are talking about the fact that Apple should organize an extraordinary Keynote in November - so there is nothing left but to be surprised.

Apple's search engine

This week, speculation that Apple is theoretically preparing its own universal search tool has been revived. The Financial Times reported that the latest version of the iOS 14 operating system provides evidence that Apple's search engine is indeed in the works. For example, the report states that when a user enters the relevant term into Spotlight on the iPhone, search results directly from Apple with links to relevant websites sometimes appear. The AppleBot website also came out with a similar message this week, however, it should not be a classic Google-type search engine, but rather a tool in the environment of the apple operating system.

The display of a foldable iPhone

News of a patent filed by Apple also surfaced online this week. The registration of the mentioned patent testifies to the fact that the Cupertino giant is working on the development of a protective layer to prevent cracks and other damage to the foldable smartphone display. This layer should also protect the phone's display from scratches, and should also provide it with higher resistance. The images accompanying the patent show a smartphone whose display bends in both directions.
