It's the end of the week, and with it our regular rundown of Apple-related speculation and leaks. This time there will be no more talk about the date of the introduction of the new iPhones - Apple has officially confirmed this week that the Keynote will take place on October 13. But there have been interesting speculations related to the arrival of AirPower, HomePod and two Apple TV models.

home pod mini

The fact that the Apple smart speaker will receive a new version has been talked about for a long time. However, analysts and leakers have not yet agreed on whether it will be a full-fledged HomePod 2, or an often discussed smaller and cheaper variant. A leaker with the nickname L0vetodream said on his Twitter this week that we definitely won't see the HomePod 2 this year, but we can reportedly look forward to the aforementioned HomePod mini. This theory is supported by multiple sources, and according to some, the fact that Apple has stopped selling third-party headphones and speakers on its website also indicates the preparation for the new HomePod.

A11 processors in AirPower

Another part of our roundup of speculations is somewhat related to the HomePod. Apple uses its own powerful processors for a number of products, which enable the best possible use of the given hardware. Leaker Komiya said on Twitter this week that we could expect a new HomePod as well as an AirPower wireless charging pad this year. According to Komiya, the HomePod should be equipped with an A10 processor, while the Apple company should equip the AirPower pad with an A11 processor. The aforementioned wireless charging pad was introduced in 2017, but Apple later announced that it was ending its development.

Two Apple TV models

Speculation about a new Apple TV model is also nothing new. However, some sources have recently stated that there are even two new Apple TV models planned. Apple TV 4K is currently the oldest device sold by Apple - it was introduced in 2017 alongside the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. Some expected the arrival of the new Apple TV model last year, when Apple introduced its new streaming services, but in the end it looks like this fall. We could expect two models - one of them should be equipped with an Apple A12 processor, the other should be equipped with a slightly more powerful chip, similar to the A14X processor. The theory about two Apple TV models was presented on Twitter by a leaker with the nickname choco_bit.
